Os partidos europeus para os animais lançam as bases para colaboração nas eleições europeias de 2019
Haia, 5 de dezembro de 2017 – Na última quinta e sexta-feira, partidos para os animais de sete países diferentes que participarão nas eleições europeias de 2019, se encontraram em Haia. Representantes dos partidos da Finlândia, Espanha, Suécia, França, Portugal, Alemanha e Holanda compartilharam conhecimento, experiências. Existe uma possibilidade real de que estes partidos conseguirão eleger vários representantes no Parlamento Europeu.
Pela primeira vez na história, membros do parlamento europeu estão a defender os interesses dos animais, da natureza e do meio ambiente, pois foram ganhos dois lugares no Parlamento Europeu nas últimas eleições: o Tierschutzpartei (Alemanha) e o Partido para os Animais (PvdD, Países Baixos sigla em holandês,). Isto é muito importante, como na Europa são tomadas decisões sobre questões que impactam significativamente os animais e no seu meio ambiente. Essas questões incluem subsídios para pecuária e pesca, acordos de livre comércio como TTIP e a legislação sobre testes em animais e tradições que afetam diretamente aos animais. Para se ter uma ideia quase 50% do orçamento da UE é gasto em agricultura.
No entanto, o número e o tamanho dos partidos políticos que defendem a causa animal na Europa está a aumentar. Tierschutzpartei, PACMA (Espanha), PAN (Portugal), Animal Party Chipre (Chipre), Parti Animaliste (França), Djurens Parti (Suécia), EOP (Finlândia) e Partito Animalista Italiano (Itália): todos obtiveram sucessos eleitorais em suas eleições nacionais, regionais e locais.
No período anterior às eleições europeias, a colaboração previamente estabelecida na TheEuroAnimal7 é comtempla a inclusão de partidos irmãos de vários estados membros da UE que defendem os interesses dos animais, da natureza e do meio ambiente.

The Hague, 5 December 2017 – Last Thursday and Friday, parties for animals from seven different countries who will be participating in the European elections of 2019, met in The Hague. Representatives of the Finish, Spanish, Swedish, French, Portuguese, German and Dutch parties shared knowledge, expertise and ideas to collaborate. There is a real possibility that these parties will gain multiple seats in the European Parliament.
For the first time in history, MEPS defending the interests of animals, nature and the environment gained two seats in the European Parliament in the last European elections: the Tierschutzpartei (Germany) and the Party for the Animals (PftA, the Netherlands). This is particularly important as in Europe, decisions are made on matters that have a significant impact on animals and their environment. These matters include subsidies for livestock and fisheries farming, free trade agreements such as TTIP, and legislation on animal testing and traditions causing animal suffering. Almost 50 percent of the EU budget is spent on agriculture.
Meanwhile, the number and size of parties for animals in Europe have increased. The Tierschutzpartei, PACMA (Spain), PAN (Portugal), Animal Party Cyprus (Cyprus), Parti Animaliste (France), Djurens Parti (Sweden), EOP (Finland) and Partito Animalista Italiano (Italy): all have gained electoral successes in national, regional and local elections.
In the run-up to the European elections, the previously established collaboration TheEuroAnimal7 is extended to include sister parties from several EU member states defending the interests of animals, nature and the environment.
