Los partidos anima­listas europeos esta­blecen la base de una cola­boración para las elec­ciónes europeas del 2019

La Haya, 5 de diciembre de 2017 — Los siete partidos animalistas que participan en las elecciones europeas, se unieron el jueves y viernes pasado en La Haya. Representantes de los partidos por los animales finlandés, español, sueco, francés, portugués, alemán y holandés compartieron su conocimiento, experiencia e ideas para una colaboración. Existe una posibilidad real que juntos obtengan varios escaños en el Parlamento Europeo.

Durante las últimas elecciones europeas, los europarlamentarios que defienden el interés de los animales, la naturaleza y el medioambiente ganaron por primera vez en la historia dos escaños: el Tierschutzpartei (Alemania) y el Partij voor de Dieren (Holanda). Eso es de gran importancia, porque es a nivel europeo que se decide sobre asuntos que afectan a los animales y su entorno. Toma por ejemplo los subsidios para la agricultura y la pesca, como el TTIP y la legislación sobre experimentos en animales y tradiciones que causan el sufrimiento de los animales. Casi la mitad del presupuesto de la UE se gasta en la agricultura.

Entre tanto, creció el número y el tamaño de los partidos animalistas en Europa. El Tierschutzpartei, el PACMA (España), el PAN (Portugal), el Animal Party Cyprus (Cipres), el Parti Animaliste (Francia), el Djurens Parti (Suecia), el EOP (Finlanda) y el Partito Animalista Italiano (Italia) tuvieron mucho éxito durante las elecciones nacionales, regionales y locales.

Con vistas en las elecciones europeas, aumentamos la cooperación anterior, llamada TheEuroAnimal7, con los partidos hermanos de los diferentes estados miembros que defienden los intereses de los animales, la naturaleza y el medioambiente.

The Hague, 5 December 2017 – Last Thursday and Friday, parties for animals from seven different countries who will be participating in the European elections of 2019, met in The Hague. Representatives of the Finish, Spanish, Swedish, French, Portuguese, German and Dutch parties shared knowledge, expertise and ideas to collaborate. There is a real possibility that these parties will gain multiple seats in the European Parliament.

For the first time in history, MEPS defending the interests of animals, nature and the environment gained two seats in the European Parliament in the last European elections: the Tierschutzpartei (Germany) and the Party for the Animals (PftA, the Netherlands). This is particularly important as in Europe, decisions are made on matters that have a significant impact on animals and their environment. These matters include subsidies for livestock and fisheries farming, free trade agreements such as TTIP, and legislation on animal testing and traditions causing animal suffering. Almost 50 percent of the EU budget is spent on agriculture.

Meanwhile, the number and size of parties for animals in Europe have increased. The Tierschutzpartei, PACMA (Spain), PAN (Portugal), Animal Party Cyprus (Cyprus), Parti Animaliste (France), Djurens Parti (Sweden), EOP (Finland) and Partito Animalista Italiano (Italy): all have gained electoral successes in national, regional and local elections.

In the run-up to the European elections, the previously established collaboration TheEuroAnimal7 is extended to include sister parties from several EU member states defending the interests of animals, nature and the environment.
