Weltlog Woche 26 – 2012

In der ersten Kammer des Parlaments wurde in der vergangenen Woche der Gesetzesantrag, die rituelle Schlachtung ohne Betäubung zu verbieten, abgelehnt. Im Parlament stimmten neben den christlichen Parteien auch die Senatoren der VVD (Volkspartei für Freiheit und Demokratie), PvdA (Partei der Arbeit) und D66 (Demokraten 66) gegen den Gesetzentwurf.

Sehr gestärkt fühle ich mich durch die die Welle von Sympathiebekundungen, die nach der Abstimmung bei uns ankamen. Religion darf kein Freibrief sein für schweres, unnötiges und vermeidbares Tierleiden. Ich werde nach den Wahlen einen neuen Gesetzesentwurf einreichen, der die Einwände der ersten Kammer des Parlaments berücksichtigt, aber dennoch dem Schlachten ohne Betäubung ein Ende bereitet. Aber zuerst die Wahlen!

Wir werden nach den Wahlen stärker zurückkehren und dann doch noch eine Mehrheit für unseren Gesetzesentwurf finden. Es ist daher unerlässlich, dass die Debatte über die Schlachtung ohne Betäubung in voller Intensität weiter geführt wird.

Sam Simon, der Produzent von "The Simpsons" schenkt der Sea Shepherd ein neues Schiff für den Kampf gegen die Walfischjagd. Grossartig!

In unserem heute vorgestellten neuen Wahlprogramm, auf das ich wieder sehr Stolz bin, erläutern wir ausführlich unsere Sicht auf das heutige wirtschaftliche System und in welche Richtung wir gehen müssen um zu einer nachhaltigen, wirtschaftlich stabilen Zukunft zu gelangen.

Wir haben ein multimediales Parteiprogramm, das erste dieser Art auf der Welt! Das Programm koppelt, mit Hilfe von QR Codes und Hyperlinks, an eine Vielzahl von Bildfragmente, Rapporte und Hintergrundartikel, die mit Hilfe von Smartphone, Computer oder Tablet, während des Lesens aufgerufen werden können. Der Titel des Programms lautet: "Halte an deinen Idealen fest und opfere sie nicht auf". Das neue Wahlprogramm hat den Anspruch einem grösseren Publikum klar zu machen, dass wir das grünste und reformwilligste politische Konzept haben.

Last week the senate rejected the legislative bill seeking to ban the ritual slaughter of animals without prior stunning. In addition to the Christian parties, the senators of the VVD, PvdA and D66 also voted against the bill. Furthermore, three of the five GroenLinks senators rejected the bill.

I feel extremely encouraged by the many messages of support that have arrived since the vote. Religion must never be an excuse for serious, unnecessary and avoidable suffering of animals. I intend to submit a new draft bill after the elections which, while taking account of the objections voiced in the senate, will seek to put an end to the slaughter of animals without prior stunning. But first the elections!

Following the elections, we will return to the House of Representatives stronger than ever and we will again attempt to get a majority to support our proposal. It is therefore extremely important that the debate going on in the country about the slaughter of animals without prior stunning continues unabated.
