Abolido el sangriento festejo del Toro de la Vega
El Toro de la Vega, sangriento festejo en el que cientos de lanceros acosan hasta matar a un toro, no se celebrará este año.
Los partidos animalistas holandés y español llevaron las riendas de la masiva manifestación celebrada el año pasado en Madrid contra esta masacre anual. Unas cien mil personas acudieron a la protesta.
Como consecuencia de ello, la autonomía española de Castilla y León realizó un cambio en la legislación y este año no ha concedido la autorización para organizar el Toro de la Vega, que suele celebrarse a mediados de septiembre. La nueva ley autonómica prohíbe dar muerte al toro en público. “Una victoria importante, pero todavía quedan muchas batallas por ganar”, dice la europarlamentaria Anja Hazekamp.
“Sigue estando permitido acosar a los toros sin lanzas, y siguen estando permitidas las corridas, en las que se tortura a los toros de forma cruel. No abandonaremos la lucha hasta que no se asesine ni se acose a un solo toro. Hay que poner fin a esta práctica medieval”, afirma Hazekamp.
Hazekamp viajó el sábado a Madrid, donde este año se reunieron más de cien mil personas para una nueva protesta masiva contra los festejos taurinos.

The Spanish State of Castile and León subsequently changed its law and is not giving permission for the Toro de La Vega this year, which normally takes place mid-September. The new law of the Spanish State prohibits the killing of bulls in the presence of spectators. “An important victory but the fight isn’t over yet”, said MEP Anja Hazekamp.
“It’s still permitted to chase the bulls without lances, just like all other bull fights where animals are cruelly tortured continue to be permitted. We will keep fighting until no bulls are killed or chased. These medieval practices have to be stop!”, according to Hazekamp.
