Wachsender Widerstand: Portugiesische Partei für die Tiere erzielt Sitz im nationalen Parlament
PAN, die portugiesische Partei für die Tiere, gewann am Sonntag den 4. Oktober einen Sitz im nationalen Parlament! PAN ist somit die zweite politische Partei der Welt mit einem Abgeordneten im nationalen Parlament, die sich primär für die Rechte der Tiere, der Natur und der Umwelt einsetzt. Die Partei für die Tiere beglückwünscht PAN ganz herzlich für ihren Sitz! Mit diesem Erfolg wird ein starkes Signal in Richtung der traditionellen Parteien abgegeben: Veränderung ist dringend erforderlich.
Mehr als 74.000 Portugiesen gaben, am Welttierschutztag, ihre Stimme der PAN (Pessoas – Animais – Natureza, oder auch, Mensch – Tier – Natur). Damit wurde André Silva mit 1,39% der Stimmen zum Deputado gewählt. Schon vorher errang PAN Sitze in Gemeinderäten, aber jetzt, mit ihrem Parlamentssitz, kann sie sich landesweit für die Belange der Tiere, der Natur und der Umwelt einsetzen. Der Erfolg PANs ist eine wichtige Entwicklung für Tiere und Menschen in Portugal.
Dieses Ergebnis illustriert den Wachstum der weltweiten Bewegung von Menschen, die nach einer politischen Strömung verlangen, die nicht die kurzfristigen Interessen der Menschen zentral stellt, sondern den Planeten und somit alle seine Bewohner. Seit der Gründung der Partei für die Tiere 2002 wurden auch in anderen Ländern Parteien für die Tiere errichtet, oder befinden sich im Aufbau, unter anderem in Großbritannien, Brasilien, Spanien, Portugal, Deutschland, Schweden, Finnland, Italien, Frankreich, Türkei, Österreich, Schweiz, Dänemark, USA, Australien und Kanada.

On Sunday 4 October, PAN, the Portuguese party for the animals, won a seat in national Parliament! This makes PAN the second political party in the world to protect primarily the interests of animals, nature and the environment with a representative in national Parliament. The Party for the Animals congratulate PAN wholeheartedly on their seat! This success conveys a strong signal to traditional parties: change is badly needed.
On World Animal Day, more than 74,000 Portuguese voted for PAN (Pessoas – Animais – Natureza, i.e., People – Animals – Nature). With 1.39% of the votes, this made André Silva elected deputado. PAN already obtained seats in municipal councils before, but their seat in Parliament allows the party to protect the interests of animals, nature and the environment at a national level as well. The success of PAN is a major development for animals as well as people in Portugal.
The outcome illustrates the growth of the worldwide movement of people who feel the need for a political movement that does not focus primarily on the short-term interests of people, but on the planet with all of its inhabitants. Since the foundation of the Party for the Animals in 2002, parties for animals have been founded or are in formation in other countries as well, including the United Kingdom, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Italy, France, Turkey, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, the United States, Australia and Canada.
