Animal Welfare Party nimmt an den Parla­ments­wahlen im Verei­nigten Köni­greich teil

Die Partei für die Tiere des Vereinigten Königreiches, die Animal Welfare Party (AWP), schickt 4 Kandidaten bei den Wahlen am 8. Juni ins Rennen. In den Wahlkreisen: Maidenhead, Hackney North & Stoke Newington, Hackney South & Shoreditch und Lewisham Deptford. Die benötigten Anzahlungen für diese Wahlkreise wurden komplett von Mitgliedern und Befürwortern getragen. Die Partei konnte diese Anzahlungen in wenigen Tagen einsammeln. Die vier Kandidaten sind Professor Andrew Knight, Jon Homan, Laura McAnea und die Leiterin der Partei Vanessa Hudson.

AWP Wahlflugblätter

Die Kernpunkte der AWP für die Wahlen 2017 lauten:

  • Höhere Strafen für verurteilte Tierquäler.
  • Ein Ende der Dachskeulung und Widerstand gegen die Aufhebung des Fuchsjagdgesetzes.
  • Eine Stärkung des Haustierwohlergehens und ein Ende der rassenspezifischen Gesetzgebung, des Handels von Tieren online, in Einzelhandelsgeschäften, und des Handels exotischer Tiere.
  • Viehwirtschaftspraktiken und Systeme, mit negativen Folgen für das Wohlergehen der Tiere, auslaufen lassen.
  • Verbesserung der Gesundheit der Menschen, Umweltschutz und globale Lebensmittelsicherheit, durch werben für, auf Pflanzen basierende, Diäten.
  • Experimente mit Tieren auslaufen lassen, mit bindenden Zielsetzungen für Reduzierung und vernünftiger Finanzierung & echter Unterstützung für Alternativen.
  • Einführung unabhängig kontrollierter Kameraüberwachung für alle Schlachthäuser.
  • Ein Ende des Lebendexports und jedweder Schlachtung ohne Betäubung.
  • Gegen einen harten Brexit. Unterstützung eines Ratifizierungsreferendums beim finalen Austrittsdeal.

UK’s Animal Welfare Party (AWP) has 4 candidates standing in the June 8th General Election in the following constituencies: Maidenhead, Hackney North & Stoke Newington, Hackney South & Shoreditch and Lewisham Deptford. The deposits for these constituencies have been entirely funded by members and supporters. The party has managed to raise the funds for these deposits in only a matter of days. The four candidates are Professor Andrew Knight, Jon Homan, Laura McAnea and the leader of the party Vanessa Hudson.

AWP believes in treating people, animals, and the environment with respect. AWP represents a shift in political thinking and action, away from the short-term interests of the few, to one in which the interests of the weakest are protected, along with what is truly for the long-term good of people and our planet.

AWP’s key policies for the 2017 General Election are:

  • Increase penalties for those convicted of animal abuse.
  • End the badger cull and oppose any repeal of the fox hunting ban.
  • Strengthen companion animal welfare with an end to breed specific legislation, the sale of animals online and in retail stores and the exotic pet trade.
  • Phase out farming practices and systems with poor welfare consequences for animals.
  • Improve human health, protect the environment and global food security by promoting healthy plant-based diets.
  • Phase out animal experimentation with binding targets for reduction combined with proper funding & real support for alternatives.
  • Introduce independently monitored CCTV for all slaughterhouses.
  • End live animal export and all slaughter without prior stunning.
  • Oppose hard Brexit. Support a ratification referendum on the final exit deal.
