Worldlog Semena 16 – 2014
Na semana passada houve a reunião na Câmara baixa que nós tínhamos organizado para falar sobre a gestão de animas selvagens. Essa reunião nós organizamos por ocasião do Inquérito sobre Grandes Animais Selvagens feito por Natuurmonumenten (uma organização que tem a gerência sobre muitas zonas naturais protegidas na Holanda) com a intenção de informar os membros da Câmara sobre as possibilidades de uma gestão natural da população tendo em vista o debate sobre a gestão de animais selvagens que vai ser realizada dia 16 de abril na Câmara. O mencionado inquérito demonstrou que a maioria das pessoas entrevistadas querem uma população natural em vez de caçadas de animais. Conforme os cientistas e os conservadores da natureza presentes isto também é o melhor para a natureza. A gestão natural da população inclusive aumenta a visibilidade dos animais.
A campanha para as eleições europeias já está marchando bem. Na terça-feira passada eu ainda tive uma conversa com o Partido para os Animais da Suécia que também vai participar nas eleições europeias.
No sábado passado houve o primeiro debate eleitoral onde a nossa líder partidária Anja Hazekamp entrou em acção. O debate foi organizado pelo COC Nederland, uma organização que defende os interesses de lésbicas, homens gays, bissexuais e transgêneros (LHBT). Como partido nós apoiamos sinceramente o movimento de emancipação para LHBT. Seres humanos e animais têm o direito de viver conforme a sua natureza e de fazer as suas escolhas em toda liberdade. O debate foi um belo início para uma série de debates eleitorais que vão seguir. Indo para Europa!
No meu último Worldog eu já mencionei as pessoas influentes que se filiaram ao nosso partido impelindo a lista de candidatos europeus. Tenho orgulho de anunciar que também a inglesa-americana Ingrid Newkirk se colocou na nossa lista. Ingrid é directora da organização para a protecção de animais PETA.
E o escritor inglês Redmond O’Hanlon nos apoia impelindo a lista. Maravilhoso!
E um artigo no diário holandês Trouw demonstra mais uma vez a grande necessidade de um partido como o nosso na Europa. Nove atuais membros holandeses do Parlamento Europeu nomearam a sua maior façanha dos últimos anos, mas o que é que fica claro: ninguém fez alguma coisa para os animais. Portanto, já é tempo para despertarmos vigorosamente a Europa. Go Anja Hazekamp! 🙂

Last week, the meeting arranged by us on the management of wildlife animals was held in the Lower House. We had arranged the meeting further to the Big Game Questionnaire held by Natuurmonumenten (an organisation which manages nature areas in the Netherlands), and it was intended to inform the Members of the Lower House of the possibilities for natural population management, with a view to the Parliamentary Debate on wildlife management on the 16th of April next. The Big Game Questionnaire established that the majority of the respondents prefer natural populations to animal hunting. According to the scientists and nature conservators present at the meeting this is also the best option for nature itself. Furthermore, natural population management enlarges the visibility of animals.
Our campaign for the European elections gets off to a strong start. Tuesday last week, I was talking to the Swedish Party for the Animals which will also participate in the European elections.
The first electoral debate attended by Anja Hazekamp, who is heading our list for the European elections, was held last Saturday. The debate was organised by COC Nederland, an organisation that stands for the interests of lesbians, homosexuals, bisexuals and transgenders (LHBT). As a party we strongly support the emancipation movement for LHBT. People and animals have a right to live by their nature and make choices in freedom. The debate was a great kick-off for a series of interesting electoral debates that will follow. On our way to Europe!
In last week’s Worldlog I already told you about the prominent candidates at the bottom of our list for the European elections. I am proud to tell you that the British-American Ingrid Newkirk has also added her name to our candidate’s list. Ingrid is head of the animal protection organisation PETA. And also the British author Redmond O’Hanlon is on our list. Wonderful!
And that our party is badly needed in Europe was demonstrated by an article in the Dutch newspaper Trouw. Nine members of the European Parliament from the Netherlands named their biggest achievements of the past years, but it turns out that: none of them did anything for animals. It’s time that we wake up Europe. Go Anja Hazekamp! 🙂
