No meu Worldlog anterior eu contei que estava na Austrália para dar uma série de palestras, entrementes eu concluí esta turnê de palestras. A organização australiana de direitos dos animais Voiceless tinha me convidado como fundadora e líder do Partido para os Animais para dar palestras sobre o nosso papel de força motriz no debate sobre os direitos dos animais e o significado político disto. Realmente eu me senti muito honrada com este convite e com muito prazer eu dei palestras por toda a Austrália em universidades e escritórios de advocacia entre 4 e 17 de maio. Quero agradecer a equipe de Voiceless pela excelente organização.
Palestra na Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Sydney
Nas passadas semanas, cerca de 2000 pessoas compareceram a uma de minhas 10 palestras na Austrália. Entre os visitantes se encontravam muitos estudantes, pessoas jovens com motivação e ambição para defender o nosso planeta e todos os seus habitantes. Mas também houveram alguns convidados especiais entre os quais o filósofo Peter Singer e o filantropo e ex-banqueiro Philip Wollen que há um ano passado ainda deu uma palestra na nossa Câmara Baixa. E também John M. Coetzee ganhador do Nobel de Literatura assistiu a uma palestra.
A 2016 Voiceless Animal Law Lecture Series foi organizada pela organização australiana de direitos dos animais Voiceless para chamar a atenção aos direitos e o bem-estar dos animais tendo em vista as eleições nacionais a serem realizadas no dia 2 de julho na Austrália. Pois agora também temos um partido irmão na Austrália, o Animal Justice Party (Partido para Justiça para os Animais). Além de dar palestras eu também conversei com diversos membros do Animal Justice Party durante minha visita à Austrália. Neste momento eles já estão representados com uma cadeira no Senado do estado australiano de New South Wales. Esperemos que dentro em pouco o partido consiga mais cadeiras por ocasião das eleições nacionais!

In my previous Worldlog I told you that I went to Australia to give some lectures, meanwhile I have finished this lecture tour. The Australian animal rights organisation Voiceless had invited me, as the founder and party leader of the Party for the Animals, to give lectures about our role of booster in the animal rights debate and the political meaning of it. I really felt honoured to be asked to do this, from the 4th until the 17th of May I thoroughly enjoyed giving lectures throughout Australia at universities and law firms. I would like to thank the team of Voiceless for their fantastic organisation.
Lecture at the Faculty of Law at the University of Sydney
Some 2,000 people attended my 10 lectures in Australia over the past few weeks. The attendants included many students, young people who are motivated and ambitious to fight for our planet and all its inhabitants. But there were also some special guests, including philosopher Peter Singer and philanthropist and former banker Philip Wollen, who gave a lecture in our Lower House a few years ago. And also John M. Coetzee, winner of the Nobel prize for Literature attended the lecture.
The 2016 Voiceless Animal Law Lecture Series was organised by the Australian animal rights organisation Voiceless to raise awareness for animal rights and animal welfare with respect to the national elections to be held in Australia on the 2nd of July. Because we now also have a sister party in Australia, the Animal Justice Party. Apart from giving lectures, I also spoke with several members of the Animal Justice Party during my visit to Australia. They currently already hold one seat in the Senate of the Australian state of New South Wales. Hopefully the party will soon gain even more seats in the national elections.
