Worldlog Settimana 40 – 2009
Questa settima ho ricevuto della posta speciale. Paul Mc McCartney mi ha mandato una lettera ringraziando il Partito per Gli Animali per l’attenzione data alla sua campagne “lunedì senza carne” durante “Prinsjesdag”, il giorno durante il quale la Regina pronuncia il programmi del governo per l’anno a venire.
Comunque il vegetarismo e nuovamente molto nell’interesse pubblico. Il 1° Ottobre ( Giornata Mondiale del Vegetarismo) abbiamo avuto il grande Ballo-per–gli-Animali e tutto il mese di ottobre è stato proclamato Il Mese della Consapevolezza Vegetarismo

Prova anche tu nella tua vicinanza di chiedere attenzione per un modo di vivere più vegetale e perciò un stile di vita più giusto per gli animali!
Alle elezioni in Germania il Tierschutzpartei ( Partiti Tedesco per gli Animali) non ha superato lo sbarramento. La soglia era anche molto alto con il 5%, ma durante le elezioni studentesche si è visto che quel partito avrà un buon futuro, letteralmente e figurativamente. Guarda qui.
Durante la scorsa settimana abbiamo notizie su come vengono trasportati in negli Paesi Bassi dei cammelli. E veramente completamente insano che le persone pensano che in questo modo possono essere trasportato degli animali. Ho fatto, per iscritto, delle domande al ministro competente.
Ci sono tanti dibattiti adesso all’inizio del nuovo anno parlamentare. Questa settimana ho partecipato ai dei dibattiti riguardante infezioni febbrili del tipo Q che sono causati negli allevamenti industriali di apre che hanno come effetto che migliaia di residenti attorno agli allevamenti sono ammalati, di cui decine in modo cronico. Si possono già contare 5 morti, più vittime di quelli dell’influenza messicana negli Paesi Bassi. Nonostante ciò, per motivi economici, non se ne parla dell’epidemia della febbre Q.
La prossima settimana avremmo un grande dibattito sulla Legge Animali, una nuova legga nella quale specialmente l’utilizzo economico degli animali verrà protetto ed animali verrebbero, ancoro di più di prima, vittime di quel che l’uomo vuole da loro. Ve ne relazionerò la prossima settimana!

A very special surprise in the mail this week. Paul McCartney wrote me a short note to thank the Party for the Animals for putting the spotlight on his campaign “Meat Free Monday” on Prinsjesdag, the day of the queen’s speech to the Dutch parliament when the queen, on behalf of the government, reads the cabinet’s plans for the next year.
Vegetarianism is certainly the focus of growing interest. On 1 October (World Vegetarianism Day) we held a large animal ball here in the Netherlands and the entire month of October has been declared Vegetarian Awareness Month.

Do what you can wherever you are to encourage a more vegetarian – and thus more animal-friendly – lifestyle!
In the German elections, the Tierschutzpartei (the German Party for the Animals) failed to reach the electoral threshold. At 5 percent, the electoral threshold is very high, but elections held among pupils and students indicate that the future belongs to the Tierschutzpartei, both literally and figuratively. See here.
Last week we received a report on how camels are being transported in the Netherlands. It’s crazy that people actually think that this is an acceptable way to transport animals. I have submitted written questions to the minister responsible.
The debates are many in these opening weeks of the new parliamentary year. This week I debated on the Q-fever outbreak. The outbreak originated at large-scale goat farms and has resulted in thousands of people living near these farms falling ill, dozens chronically. Five people have already lost their lives to this outbreak, more than have died in the recent outbreak of swine flu. And yet the Q-fever outbreak is being kept quiet for economic reasons.
Next week we’ll be having the major debate on the Animal Act, a new law that seems only to aim to protect the economic value of animals and that threatens even more than ever to turn animals into objects for people to use as they see fit. I will reporting on the debate next week!
