Worldlog Settimana 08 – 2011

Come la settimana scorsa anche questa settimana è ricca di attività della campagna elettorali per le elezioni provinciali e del Senato.

In questo Worldlog un impressione delle attività!

Venerdì sono andata a due villaggi nelle provincie dell’Olanda Meridionale e l’Olanda Settentrionale per un’azione contro l’allevamenti in mega-stalle. E nel frattempo ho rilasciato varie interviste, tra le quali una con la testata Tedesca Der Spiegel riguardante il Partito per gli Animali. Martedì ho fatto alcune interviste radio e sono stata impegnata nelle riprese per il filmato per le elezioni che da venerdì è online. È in Olandese, ma le immagine parlano da sole.

Lunedì 21 Febbraio sono stata ad una azione nella provincia di Overijssel contro la caccia all’oca. Prima ho offerto assieme al nostro capolista in Overijssel simbolicamente un sacco con sementi di trifoglio bianco all’assessore Cor van den Berg del comune di Olst-Wijhe come alternativo amichevole alla caccia alle oche. Trifoglio bianco è molto ricco di proteine e cosi molto appetibile per le oche. L’idea è che le oche dopo aver mangiato il trifoglio bianco lasciano in pace le colture sui campi. Oltre all’offerta del sacco di semi di trifoglio è stato anche posizionato un cartello d’oca vicino al cartello del comune di Olst-Wijhe. I Paesi Bassi hanno una responsabilità internazionale come zona di migrazione e svernamento per le oche ed i fischioni. Il ritorno delle oche come uccello che si riproduce qui è un successo della politica naturale che deve essere mantenuto!

Secondo una ricerca del sondaggista Maurice de Hond (commissionato dall’organizzazione per il benessere dei animali WSPA) circa un quarto di tutti Olandesi “fa pesare sostanzialmente” ‘argomento benessere animale nel determinare il loro volto alle elezione per il consiglio provinciale. Speriamo che questo avrà effetto sui seggi che andiamo ad ottenere per gli animali, la natura e l’ambiente.

L’ex ministro dell’ambiente della VVD, Pieter Winsemius, e l’ex ministro di Agricoltura e Natura del CDA, Cees Veerman, hanno fatto un appello di non votare ai rispettivi partiti a queste elezione proprio per la politica naturale disastrosa di questo governo. In fondo gli elettori Olandesi hanno una sola possibilità per mostrare le loro spinte verdi nella scelta del voto: votare per il Partito per gli Animali!

This week we are again enormously busy with campaign activities for the Provincial State elections.
In this Worldlog an impression of the activities!

On Friday, I went to two villages in the provinces of South-Holland and North Holland to join protests against mega stalls. And I also gave several interviews, including one to German magazine Der Spiegel, in which I spoke about the Party for the Animals. Below is a photograph of our demonstration in South-Holland.

And one photograph of a super fanatic billposter from the province of North-Brabant. The election sign is in his own garden!

On Tuesday I gave a number of radio interviews and I made the recordings for the election film which has been online since Friday: www.youtube.com/watch. The film is in Dutch but the images speak for themselves.

On Monday 21 February I attended a campaign demonstration in the province of Overijssel against the goose hunt. Together with our party leader for the province of Overijssel, I first symbolically offered a bag of white clover seed to alderman Cor van den Berg of the municipality of Olst-Wijhe as an animal-friendly alternative to the goose hunt. White clover is high in protein and geese love it. The idea is that the geese will leave the farmers’ crops alone and eat the while clover instead. A special goose sign was also erected next to the sign indicating the municipality of Olst-Wijhe. The Netherlands bears international responsibility as an area through which geese and widgeons traverse and overwinter. The return of the goose to the Netherlands as a summer bird is a nature policy success that we can be proud of!

According to research carried out by pollster Maurice de Hond (under the authority of animal-welfare organization WSPA), for nearly one quarter of all Dutch people, the issue of animal welfare will be a ‘considerable factor’ when deciding who to vote for in the Provincial State elections. Let’s hope that this has an effect on the number of seats we are able to win on behalf of animals, nature and the environment.

Ex-minister of the environment Pieter Winsemius (VVD) and ex-minister of agriculture and nature Cees Veerman (CDA) have asked for their own parties to be boycotted during the upcoming elections owing to the disastrous nature policy of this government. In fact, Dutch voters have but one option to express their green ambitions: the Party for the Animals!
