Camera vuole tornare le scimmie dall’isola di Java all’AAP
La Camera vuole che cinque scimmie dall’isola di Java, che sono state salvate, vengano trasferite all’organizzazione di benessere degli animali olandese ‘Associazione AAP’ (SCIMMIA). Gli animali, che sono stati trovati al porto di Rotterdam nel 2014, sono stati curati dall’associazione AAP per l’ultimo anno e mezzo e recentemente sono stati trasferiti al laboratorio di scimmie BPRC nella citta’ di Rijswijk. Una maggioranza della camera trova cio’ inaccettabile ed ha supportato una mozione del Partito per gli Animali per far stare questi animali in modo permanente dall’AAP.
Nel 2014, cinque scimmie sono state trovate su una barca proveniente da Malaisia. Gli animali, che erano severamente indeboliti, sono stati portati all’associazione AAP. Hanno potuto recuperare per l’ultimo anno e mezzo. Il ministero di Economia, padrone degli animali, ha deciso di mandare le scimmie al Biomedical Primate Research Centre (BPRC, Contro di Ricerca Biomedica di Primati) nella citta’ di Rijswijk. Avrebbero avuto il destino di l’allevazione.
La Camera lo trova inaccettabile e vuole che gli animali vengono portati in modo permanente dall’associazione AAP. Il membro della Camera del Partito Per gli animali Frank Wasserberg dice: “Il laboratorio delle scimmie deve essere veramente l’ultimo luogo dove uno vuol lasciare queste scimmie. Mi fa piacere che anche la camera non veda il BPRC come adeguato posto per gli animali.”
The Dutch Lower House wants five rescued Java monkeys to permanently stay with the Dutch animal welfare organisation AAP. The animals, which were confiscated on the port of Rotterdam in 2014, have been looked after by the AAP foundation for 18 months and were recently sent off to the primate laboratory BPRC in Rijswijk. A majority in the Lower House finds this unacceptable and has supported a motion by the Party for the Animals to let these animals stay with AAP permanently.
In 2014, five Java monkeys were discovered on a ship from Malaysia. The extremely weakened animals were confiscated and brought to the AAP foundation, where they were allowed to regain their strength in the following eighteen months. The Ministry of Economic Affairs, owner of the animals, has decided to send the monkeys to the Biomedical Primate Research Centre (BPRC) in Rijswijk, where they will be used as breeding animals.
The Lower House finds this unacceptable and wants the monkeys to be placed with the AAP foundation permanently. Party for the Animals MP Frank Wassenberg: “A primate laboratory is the very last place we should want to send these monkeys. Fortunately, the Lower House agrees that the BPRC is not appropriate as a shelter for these animals.”
