Camera Deputaților vrea să trimită macacii crabivori înapoi la AAP
Camera Deputaților vrea ca cinci dintre macacii crabivori salvați să fie plasați permanent la „Fundația AAP”, organizația neerlandeză pentru protecția animalelor. Animalele, confiscate în 2014 în portul Rotterdam, au fost îngrijite preț de un an și jumătate de Fundația AAP ca mai apoi să fie trimise la laboratorul pentru maimuțe BPRC din Rijswijk. Majoritatea Camerei Deputaților consideră acest fapt inacceptabil și a sprijint o moțiune a PvdD cu privire la plasarea permanentă a acestor animale la AAP.
Cinci macaci crabivori au fost găsiți în 2014 pe o navă ce venea din Malaezia. Animalele extrem de slăbite au fost confiscate la vremea aceea și duse la Fundația AAP. Ministerul Afacerlor Interne, proprietarul animalelor, a decis ca maimuțele să fie trimise către BPRC – Biomedical Primate Research Centre (Centrul de Cercetare Biomedicală a Primatelor) din Rijswijk. Acolo acestea ar urma să servească drept animale de împerecheat.
Camera Deputaților consideră că aceasta este ceva inadmisibil și dorește ca maimuțele să fie plasate permanent la Fundația AAP. Frank Wassenberg, membru din partea PvdD la Camera Deputaților: „Laboratorul pentru maimuțe este ultimul loc unde ar trebui trimise aceste animale. Este bine că și Camera Deputaților consideră că BPRC nu este o opțiune viabilă.”
The Dutch Lower House wants five rescued Java monkeys to permanently stay with the Dutch animal welfare organisation AAP. The animals, which were confiscated on the port of Rotterdam in 2014, have been looked after by the AAP foundation for 18 months and were recently sent off to the primate laboratory BPRC in Rijswijk. A majority in the Lower House finds this unacceptable and has supported a motion by the Party for the Animals to let these animals stay with AAP permanently.
In 2014, five Java monkeys were discovered on a ship from Malaysia. The extremely weakened animals were confiscated and brought to the AAP foundation, where they were allowed to regain their strength in the following eighteen months. The Ministry of Economic Affairs, owner of the animals, has decided to send the monkeys to the Biomedical Primate Research Centre (BPRC) in Rijswijk, where they will be used as breeding animals.
The Lower House finds this unacceptable and wants the monkeys to be placed with the AAP foundation permanently. Party for the Animals MP Frank Wassenberg: “A primate laboratory is the very last place we should want to send these monkeys. Fortunately, the Lower House agrees that the BPRC is not appropriate as a shelter for these animals.”
