Em junho passado, o grupo de acção Urgenda ganhou o processo judicial do chamado “negócio do clima”. O juiz determinou que o Estado holandês de fato deva fazer mais para reduzir CO2. O curso é muito triste pois foi necessário processar o estado, porque por si só não foi o suficiente para proteger os civis dos efeitos das mudanças climáticas. Fiquei muito satisfeita que o grupo de ação judicial Urgenda havia vindicado. Holanda está funcionando bem atrasado em termos de redução de CO2; ainda há um monte de melhoria necessária! Mas a história fica ainda mais triste … O estado agora vai apelar contra esta decisão. Incompreensível, é totalmente absurdo que o governo não seja preparado para melhor proteger os seus próprios cidadãos e o ambiente. Por que você não quer assumir a responsabilidade como governo?
O Colégio de Direitos Humanos ressaltou na semana passada ainda algo notável na política holandesa. Graças a um novo projeto de lei sobre os serviços de inteligência e segurança em breve todos os holandeses podem ser monitorados pelo governo. Mesmo se você não for suspeito de nada! O projeto de lei não diz nada sobre a salvaguarda da privacidade. Também não será necessário aprovação de qualquer autoridade. Aprovação do Ministro do Interior é o suficiente. Na Suécia, a Alemanha ea Bélgica, o governo ainda precisa pelo menos a permissão de uma autoridade independente, como um juiz antes que eles possam começar a espionagem. O Partido para os Animais acha importante garantir a privacidade dos cidadãos. Portanto, vou me opor a este plano.
Quinta-feira organizações de direitos dos animais e outros cidadãos preocupados realizaram ação para proibir a agricultura vison. Mink Fur é um produto de luxo muito cruel e também supérfluo. Criadores de vison para sua pele seria proibida nos Países Baixos ao longo de vários anos. Criadores de vison discordaram disso e foram à Justiça. Eles ganharam neste caso. Felizmente Secretário Dijksma não se deixou parado e ele recorreu. Quinta-feira passada teve lugar esta ação judicial. Antes do início, vários activistas dos direitos dos animais realizaram uma manifestação pacífica em frente ao tribunal. Enquanto escrevia este Worldlog a decisão ainda não era conhecida, de modo a ser continuado!
Estou megacansada, a manifestação contra mega-tendas na Holanda, foi um grande sucesso. Muitos cidadãos interessados reuniram-se na Malieveld em Haia para deixar o governo saber que deve haver um fim à pecuária industrial. Nossa senadora Christine Teunissen fez um discurso .Estavam presentes obviamente muitos membros do Partido para os Animais! Clique aqui para uma reportagem fotográfica.
Em suma, muitos cidadãos se fazerem ouvir. E isso eu gosto de ver. Se apeguem aos seus ideais!

Last June, the court ruled in favour of the environmental group Urgenda in the so-called ‘Climate Case’. The court judged that the Dutch State should do more to reduce its CO2 emissions. It is of course sad that it was necessary to file a lawsuit against the State because it did not take sufficient action to protect its citizens against the effects of climate change. I was delighted that the court granted the claim of the environmental group Urgenda. After all, the Netherlands severely lags behind in reducing its CO2 emissions; much improvement is still needed! But the story becomes even sadder… The State will now appeal against the court’s decision. Unbelievable, it is completely absurd that the government is not willing to better protect its own citizens and the climate. Why would they, as the government, not take that responsibility?
The College of Human Rights last week pointed at something else particular in Dutch politics. Thanks to a new bill regarding intelligence and security services it will be possible for the government to wiretap all Dutch citizens. Even if they are not suspected of anything! For the bill does not contain anything on the safeguarding of privacy. Nor is there need to ask any authority for permission. The approval of the Minister of the Interior is enough. At least the governments in Sweden, Germany and Belgium first require the permission of an independent authority, for example of a court, before they can start wiretapping. The Party for the Animals believes that the safeguarding of citizens’ privacy is important. I will thus oppose to this plan.
On Thursday, animal rights groups and other concerned citizens demonstrated in favour of a mink farming ban. Mink fur is a very cruel and, moreover, superfluous luxury product. The farming of minks for fur production was supposed to be banned in a few years. Mink farmers did not agree and went to court. They won their case at the time. Fortunately, State Secretary Dijksma did not let it lie and she filed an appeal. This court case took place last Thursday. Before the start, several animal rights activists held a peaceful manifestation in front of the court building. The court decision was not yet known when I was writing this Worldlog, so this will be continued!
‘MEGA fed up’, the demonstration against mega stables was highly successful. Many concerned citizens gathered at the Malieveld in The Hague to let the government know that factory farming should stop. Our Member of the Upper House Christine Teunissen held a speech. In short, many citizens expressed their opinion, which I think is great to see. Hold on to your ideals.
