Um sinal indicativo da Câmara Baixa na semana passada foi o acordo-Kunduz de 3 partidos que ofereceram tolerar nosso governo conservativo em troca da possibilidade de obter poder governamental. Nós achamos que o acordo-Kunduz nada mais é que o velho acordo-Catshuis embrulhado num papelzinho de presente verde. Soa bem falar sobre reajustamentos e economias mas obviamente a questão principal é um sério agravamento dos impostos. No lugar errado, sem objetivos e sem suficientes motivações.

Assim por exemplo, foi criado um imposto de trem. Na Holanda as pessoas que viajam entre a casa e o trabalho ida e volta de trem podem declarar essas despesas de deslocações ao seu empregador sem que seja preciso pagar impostos. Mas agora existe o plano de tributar esses reembolsos de gastos de viagem o que é um duro golpe para as pessoas que viajam todos os dias entre a sua residência e o local de trabalho. Na Holanda os passageiros aguentaram pacientemente os trens abarrotados de gente durante anos. Aceitaram com resignação as 'desculpas pelo incómodo' da companhia de trem quando haviam atrasos e anulações de trens, avarias de agulha e de sinal. Apesar de tudo continuaram viajando de trem porque pensavam assim fazer algo de bom e por isso aguentaram bastante desconforto. E agora vão penar pelo bom comportamento. As pessoas que se mudem, diz a coligação de Kunduz. Isso mostra uma falta total de senso da realidade agora que o mercado de casas na Holanda está completamente fechado. Por isso eu apresentei uma moção pedindo ao governo para desistir desse plano de imposto de trem. Terça-feira, dia 5 de junho haverão as votações sobre essa questão.

No dia 9 de junho o C.R.E.L. www.crel.fr (Club de Reconnaissance et d'Entraide aux Leviers), vai organizar uma grande manifestação em Estrasburgo contra a caça com galgos e as subsequentes horríveis torturas que esses cães sofrem. Por favor, apoie essa organização francesa que luta para melhorar as condições de vida desses cães muito atormentados e assine a petição.

Na semana passada começou a conferência do Grupo Bilderberg na Espanha. Nesse grupo se encontram as 'pessoas poderosas' do mundo inteiro que combinam coisas entre si principalmente no campo da política e da economia. Não existe qualquer forma de transparência dos assuntos discutidos durante as reuniões. Nós achamos que a elaboração democrática de decisões deve melhorar muito e para isso transparência é essencial. A política deve ser praticada com a máxima franqueza e não é possível para a assembleia nacional controlar reuniões secretas. Por isso fiz uma compilação no Twitter de todas as perguntas sobre a delegação holandesa na conferência de Bilderberg e a enviei ao primeiro-ministro 😉

The Lower House focused this week on the Kunduz Accord by three parties that offered our conservative government passive support in exchange for the opportunity to govern. We think the Kunduz Accord is nothing more than the old Catshuis Accord in green wrapping paper. It sounds good to discuss restructurings and cut-backs, but let's not forget they're also discussing imposing severe new taxes. The taxes are on the wrong thing, scattershot, and are insufficiently explained.

They, for example, invented a train tax. In the Netherlands, people who travel between their homes and their places of work can claim their travel expenses back from their employer without taxes being levied. But the plan is now to tax these travel expenses, which is a slap in the face to train commuters. In the Netherlands, those who travel by train have for years have allowed themselves to be transported in overcrowded carriages like docile sheep. They've simply accepted train company's 'apologies for the inconvenience' when trains break down, when they're delayed or experience signalling and computer failures. They kept travelling by train because they thought they were doing some good and did not begrudge the inconvenience. And now they have to pay for their good behaviour. The Kunduz coalition says people should just move house. This shows just how out of touch with reality they are as the housing market in the Netherlands is entirely locked down. That is why I tabled a motion in which I ask the government to scrap this train tax. They will vote on Tuesday 5 June.

On 9 June, C.R.E.L. www.crel.fr (Club de Reconnaissance et d’Entraide aux Lévriers), will hold a large demonstration in Strasbourg against hunting with galgo dogs and the torture that the results. Support this French organisation that works to improve the living conditions of these much maligned dogs by signing the petition.

Last week saw the start of the Bilderberg Group conference in Spain. This group contains the 'power set' from around the globe who have agreements amongst themselves, particularly in the political and economic areas. There is a complete lack of transparency over what is discussed in these meetings. We think the democratic decision-making process could be improved and transparency is essential here. Politics needs to be practised in public because popular representation cannot control these secret meetings. That's why I've collected all the questions on Twitter about the Dutch delegation to the Bilderberg conference and sent them to the Prime Minister!
