Worldlog Settimana 28 – 2009
Questo è l'ultimo worldlog che appare prima della pausa estiva.
Mercoledì della prossima settima sarò a Rio de Janeiro per fare un discorso al congresso mondiale del veganesimo e per mostrare il film Meat the Truth (Carne, la verità sconosciuta). Non mancare, se sei nei paraggi!

La settimana scorsa ho incontrato i rappresentanti del Partito per gli Animali portoghese, recentemente fondato. Che bello incontrare anime affini, gente bonaria ed entusiasta, proveniente da una moltitudine di paesi!

Ormai il nostro ufficio scientifico, la Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation, sta preparando un nuovo film, sul degrado dei mari e degli oceani. La scorsa settimana sono state fatte le prime riprese nelle Azzorre, sotto la direzione di Karen Soeters.
Dobbiamo unire le nostre forze per combattere la sofferenza animale, prima che comincino le vacanze estive.
Il Puerto Rico ha intenzione di costruire un centro di allevamento di primati, dove saranno allevati animali utilizzati dai laboratori di sperimentazione animale. Clicca qui per esprimere la tua disapprovazione!
La Bolivia dà il buon esempio, vietando i circhi con animali selvatici, però c'è ancora un gran numero di paesi (specie in America del Sud), che continuano a tollerare il divertimento con gli animali selvatici nei circhi. Clicca qui per protestare.
Poi, qualche notizia positiva: il progetto VitaGoat permette ai bambini nei paesi poveri di bere latte di soia, prodotto nei paesi dove abitano.
La sezione olandese del progetto è stata nominata per la 'gara di idealismo' di un quotidiano olandese. Aiutala, votando per il progetto VitaGoat.

Last week in The Hague I met with representative of the newly established Portuguese Party for the Animals. It’s always great to to meet such motivated people. They come from so many different countries but share the same ideals!

Our scientific bureau, the Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation, is preparing a new film about the death of the seas and oceans. The first takes were shot last week on the Azores under the direction of Karen Soeters.
Before we break for the summer vacation, I’d like you to join me in taking a stand against cruelty to animals. Puerto Rico is planning to start a primate breeding centre to provide subjects for animal laboratories. Go here to express your opposition!
Bolivia has set a good example by banning circuses with wild animals. Unfortunately, there are still many countries (especially in South America) where circuses featuring wild animals are seen as legitimate forms of popular entertainment.
And some positive news. The VitaGoat project helps children in poor countries gain access to soymilk that is produced in their own villages.
The Dutch section of the project has been nominated in an “ideals” competition being run by a national Dutch newspaper. Lend them your support and vote for the VitaGoat project.
