Worldlog Semena 20 – 2013

Na semana passada já contei um pouco sobre a recepção maravilhosa e reconfortante que tivemos em Istambul com o nosso partido irmão Hayvan Partisi. Um dos maiores jornais na Turquia o Hurryet na semana passada dedicou extensivamente atenção à nossa visita e também o Zaman Daily fez um grande relatório. A missão teve êxito e é com alegria que aguardo a conferencia internacional para partidos irmãos de outros países que organizamos em Haia nos dias 2 e 3 de junho.

A venda de natureza por meio de leilão que a organização Staatsbosbeheer (que cuida de grande parte da natureza na Holanda) decidiu fazer por que o governo exige dela ainda neste período governamental uma economia de 100 milhões de euros já começou neste fim de semana passado e vai continuar na semana que vem. Como já contei na semana passada nós começamos uma acção de financiamento colectivo (crowdfunding) afim de comprar áreas naturais para evitar que elas caiam em mãos erradas.

É muito triste ver um letreiro ‘à venda’ na natureza tão preciosa. Parece que o governo não se dá conta que a natureza vale muito mais que o valor do terreno! Na semana que vem contarei como decorreu o leilão!

Fiz os preparativos para a apresentação de meu livro MÉÉR (MAIS), dia 27 de maio na sala histórica de reunião do Senado.

Eu achei 15 cientistas dispostos a dar o seu parecer sobre o caminho infrutífero do crescimento económico sem freios e também lhes pedi para formular alternativas.

Last week I talked about the wonderful, heart-warming reception we had in Istanbul from our sister party Hayvan Partisi. Last week, one of Turkey’s biggest newspapers the Hurriyet dedicated quite a few column inches to our visit and the Zaman Daily also wrote a long story. Mission accomplished! I am really looking forward to the international conference we are organising in The Hague on 2 and 3 June for sister parties in other countries.

The National Forest Service’s nature reserve auctions took place last week and will be held again next week. The National Forest Service is an organisation that manages nature in the Netherlands and they have to sell the reserves off because the government has cut its budget by 100 million Euros for this government’s term of office. As I told you last week, we have started a crowd funding campaign so we can buy these nature reserves to prevent nature from falling into the wrong hands.

It’s sad to see nature with a ‘for sale’ sign on it. The government doesn’t seem to realise that nature has a lot greater value than simply what the ground is worth! I’ll fill you in next week on how the auction went!

I’m preparing to present my book MÉÉR (MORE) on 27 May in the Upper House’s historical meeting room.
