Worldlog Semana 22 – 2008

No final de semana passado tivemos o congresso do partido (reunião dos sócios). No congresso olhamos para tráz e vimos um ano de muito sucesso onde adquirimos duas cadeiras na Câmara, também oito cadeiras nos estados e uma cadeira no Senado. Um resumo do meu discurso é possível ler aqui.

Os membros no congresso fizeram uma votação aconselhados pela direção do partido para participar no verão do próximo ano da Eleição Européias! Será novamente um ano bem corrido com campanhas intensas.

Peter Singer, o professor catedrático bio-ethiek australiano da Princeton-University, Filósofo e um dos fundadores das idéias em redor dos direitos dos animais, compartilhou histórias muito inspiradoras durante o congresso. Foi uma grande honra tê-lo no congresso.

Our party congress (members’ meeting) was held last week. It was an opportunity to look back at a highly successful year in which we gained eight seats in the Provincial States and a seat in the senate in addition to our two seats in the lower house of parliament. Party members at the congress adopted the recommendation by the party executive committee to participate in the European elections to be held in the summer of next year! Next year promises to be an exciting and busy one full of intense campaigning.

Peter Singer, the Australian professor of bio-ethics at Princeton university, philosopher and one of the fathers of the animal rights movement, held a very inspirational speech during the congress. It was a true honour to have Professor Singer attend our congress.
