Worldlog Settimana 22 – 2008

Il fine settimana scorso abbiamo tenuto il nostro congresso di partito (assemblea degli iscritti). Col pensiero siamo tornati al grande successo dell’anno passato, in cui oltre ai due seggi nella camera dei deputati abbiamo acquisito otto seggi nel consiglio regionale ed un seggio al senato. Gli iscritti al congresso hanno approvato l'indicazione del comitato direttivo del partito a partecipare alle elezioni Europee l’anno prossimo in estate. Sarà di nuovo un altro anno bello ed impegnativo con attività intensive.

Peter Singer, il professore universitario di bio-ethica Australiano, filosofo e uno dei fondatori delle teorie sui diritti degli animali, durante il congresso ha tenuto un discorso molto stimolante. E’ stato un grande onore averlo al congresso.

Our party congress (members’ meeting) was held last week. It was an opportunity to look back at a highly successful year in which we gained eight seats in the Provincial States and a seat in the senate in addition to our two seats in the lower house of parliament. Party members at the congress adopted the recommendation by the party executive committee to participate in the European elections to be held in the summer of next year! Next year promises to be an exciting and busy one full of intense campaigning.

Peter Singer, the Australian professor of bio-ethics at Princeton university, philosopher and one of the fathers of the animal rights movement, held a very inspirational speech during the congress. It was a true honour to have Professor Singer attend our congress.
