Worldlog Settimana 36 – 2009

Il preparativi verso il nuovo anno parlamentare sono in pieno svolgimento. In momento periodo molto frenetico abbiamo avuto delle notizie magnifiche da parte del nostro partito gemello Tedesco.

Durante le elezioni regionali in Sassonia il Partito per la Protezione degli Animali , Il Partito per gli Animali Tedesco ha ottenuto il 2.1 percento dei voti. Un risultato fantastico! Il Partito per la Protezione degli Animali conquista sempre più terreno: alle precedente elezioni il partito aveva ottenuto solo il 0,2 percento dei voti. Dopo i Paesi Bassi anche la Germania sembra avere un partito per gli animali nel parlamento.

In Sassonia hanno votato 36.914 cittadini per il Partito per la Protezione degli Animali. Con il 2,1 percento dei voti il partito non ha raggiunto la soglia del 5 percento, ma visto l’enorme incremento che il partito tedesco sta vivendo possiamo parlare di un risultato straordinario! Il Partito per gli Animali spera che il successo del Partito per la Protezione degli Animali Tedesco sarà da ispirazione per più partiti per gli animali stranieri a partecipare alle elezioni. In Brasile, per esempio, metà della percentuale ottenuto in Germania darebbe già diritto ad un seggio nel parlamento.
Particolarmente interessante che proprio dal Brasile, dalla super attiva Marly Winckler, abbiamo ricevuto al notizie che il nostro film Meat the Truth ha avuto una nomina onorevole durante i 1° Film Festival Internazionale per i Diritti degli Animali, che si è svolto il 29 ed il 30 Agosto a Curitiba, Brasile. Meat the Truth era uno dei tre film che sono stati premiati durante il festival.

Meat the Thruth ha già ricevuto un Premio D’Onore il 15 Novembre 2008 dal Consiglio del Cinema del Greater Columbus durante il Film e Video Festival Internazionale della Columbia negli Stati Uniti.

Il documentario è stato mostrato in tutto il mondo, in paesi come Taiwan, Australia, Nuova Zelanda, Ecuador, Canada, Italia, Germania, Argentina, Spagna, Croazia, Slovenia, Singapore, Portogallo e Gran Bretagna ed è stato tradotto in 6 lingue diverse: cinese, croato, spagnolo, portoghese, sloveno ed italiano. Al momento si sta lavorando a delle traduzioni in turco, tedesco e francese. La versione con i sottotitoli olandese, inglese e portoghese sono nel frattempo disponibile online gratuitamente per far conoscere il film ad un grande pubblico. Il 15 settembre nei Paesi Bassi è “Prinsjesdag”, il giorno il quale il governa presenta il documento di programmazione economica per l’anno prossimo, questo avviene tramite la lettera del “Discorso del Trono” da parte della regina. Tutte le signore porteranno un cappello per l’occasione e per noi è già un’abitudine di portarne uno con un messaggio a favore del benessere degli animali. Metterò qualche foto nel Worldlog dopo “Prinsjesdag”.
Mi limito un po’ questa settimana perché i traduttori hanno avuto un gran da fare la settimana scorsa con la traduzione del testo lungo.

The run-up to the new parliamentary year is in full swing. And in the midst of all the attendant hullabaloo we received some fantastic news from our German sister party.

In the Saxony federal state elections, the Tierschutzpartei, the German party for the animals, received 2.1 percent of the votes. A great result! The Tierschutzpartei is making great strides: at the previous elections, the party captured a mere 0.2 percent of the vote. Now Germany, after the Netherlands, seems set to soon have a party for the animals represented in the national parliament.

A total of 36,914 Saxony citizens voted for the Tierschutzpartei. With 2.1 percent of the votes, however, the party still failed to reach the electoral threshold of 5 percent. Yet seen in the context of the party’s impressive growth, this still qualifies as a great result! The Party for the Animals hopes that the success of the German Tierschutzpartei will inspire other parties for the animals around the world to participate in elections. In Brazil, for example, just half of the percentage obtained in the German election would have been enough to secure a seat in the parliament!

We also just received some good news from Brazil. The very active Marly Winckler informs us that our film Meat the Truth received an honourable mentioning during the 1st International Film Festival for the Rights of Animals, which took place in Curitiba, Brazil on 29 and 30 August. Meat the Truth was one of three films awarded prizes at the festival.

Meat the Truth had already been awarded an honour from the Film Council of Greater Columbus on 15 November 2008 during the Columbus International Film and Video Festival in the United States.

The documentary has now been screened all over the world in countries such as Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Ecuador, Canada, Italy, Germany, Argentina, Spain, Croatia, Slovenia, Singapore, Portugal and Great Britain, and has been translated into 6 languages: Chinese, Croatian, Spanish, Portuguese, Slovenian and Italian. Work is currently underway on Turkish, German and French translations. The Dutch, English and Portuguese subtitled versions are currently available free online in an effort to get a large audience acquainted with the film.
