Un’esclusiva nei Paesi Bassi!Venerdì scorso ho aperto il primo snack bar nei Paesi Bassi che hanno solamente prodotti vegetariani e vegani sul menu! In uno snackbar vegetariano sono serviti pasti, snack e panini assieme a bevande calde e fredde, sempre biologiche. Inoltre il proprietario Jürgen Verwoerd si sforza per gestire un ristorante fastfood nel modo più verde possibile. Con energia verde, imballaggi ecologici e prodotti di pulizia ecologici.
Lo snackbar vegetariano contribuisce a una transizione verso un approvvigionamento alimentare più equa. Grazie a questo snackbar, la gente può mangiarsi un panino senza mettere sotto forte pressione gli animali, le persone, la natura e l’ambiente. Noi siamo molto felice con ogni imprenditore che fa passi significativi sulla strada per una società più vegetale e perciò più accogliente per gli animali.
Sono stata a Parigi questa settima per il lancio del libro “Meat the Truth” in francese: La vérité sur la viande (la verità sulla carne). È stato un evento molto bello e affollato!
La settimana scorsa abbiamo fatto delle interrogazioni parlamentari riguardante la violazione del divieto di tagliare orecchio e/o coda che viene segnalata. In una trasmissione televisiva olandese è venuto alla luce che persone fanno tagliare orecchie e/code dei lori cani, anche se questo è proibito. La stessa trasmissione ha anche rivelato che sulle mostre canine si vedono prevalentemente cani con orecchie e/o code tagliate e che non vengono svolti alcuni controlli.
Il taglio di orecchie e/o coda dei cani è vietato dalla legge nei Paesi Bassi dal 2001. Eppure sembra che tanti cani debbano subire questi tagli. Noi riteniamo inaccettabile esiste un commercio internazionale di cani con le orecchie e/o code tagliate.
Peter Singer ci aiuta a chiedere attenzione per il nostro documentario Lepre nella Maratona, un film su dieci del Partito per gli Animali. Fantastico! Questo famoso australiano Peter Singer è professore bioetica all’università di Princeton, filosofo e uno dei fondatori del quadro etico decisionale circa i diritti degli animali. Lui è per noi una grande fonte d’ispirazione!
L’azienda Nikon, noti per le loro telecamere sparano però non solo con le telecamere ma anche con armi. Firma su http://www.viva.org.uk/huntingban/nikon/?Lead=FB020 lla petizione ed invia una mail alla Nikon con la richiesta di fermare la vendita di armi.

Le api ora dipendono dal tuo aiuto, e tu di quello delle api. Leggi questo articolo inquietante per ulteriori informazioni. . L’Unione Europea si rifiuta di vietare i pesticidi pericolosi per la mortalità delle api. Pertanto i Paesi Bassi devono vietare i neonicotinoidi tossici e fioroni! Noi vogliamo che questi prodotti siano rimossi dal mercato al più presto possibile, perche i pesticidi agricoli costituiscono un serio pericolo per le api e altri insetti.

A first in the Netherlands! Last Friday, I opened the first snack bar in the Netherlands which has only vegetarian and vegan items on the menu. At the Vegetarian Snack Bar they serve meals, snacks and filled sandwiches, supplemented by organic hot and cold drinks. The owner Jürgen Verwoerd aims at running a fastfood restaurant that is as green as possible. With green power, environmental friendly packaging and ecological cleaning agents.
The Vegetarian Snack Bar helps in the shift towards an honest food supply. Thanks to this snack bar you can eat a ‘meatball sandwich’ without putting pressure on animals, people, nature or the environment. We are delighted with every entrepreneur who takes meaningful steps towards a vegetarian, and therefore, animal friendly society.
This week I was in Paris for the book presentation of the French language version of Meat the Truth: La Verite sur la Viande. It was a great event with many visitors!
Last week, we raised Parliamentary questions about the violation of the prohibition of docking and cropping, which is frequently seen. In a Dutch television programme it came to light that people still have their dogs’ ears and tail cropped and docked, despite the prohibition. Seemingly the dogs exhibited at shows are mostly cropped and docked and no inspections are carried out.
The cropping and docking of dogs is banned by law in the Netherlands since 2001. But apparently many dogs are still being cropped and docked. We think it is unacceptable that these dogs are still traded illegally on an international basis.
Peter Singer helps us to draw attention to our documentary the Hare in the Marathon, a film covering the 10th anniversary of the Party for the Animals. Excellent! The world-famous Australian Peter Singer is professor of Bioethics at Princeton University, philosopher and one of the founders of the ethical assessment of animal rights. He is a great source of inspiration to us!

The bees are now dependent on your help, and you depend on the help of the bees. Read this alarming article for more information. The European Union refuses to prohibit hazardous pesticides to prevent the death of bees. The Netherlands should therefore just prohibit the poisonous neonicotinoids and fipronil itself! We want these pesticides to be taken from the market as soon as possible because these agricultural pesticides seriously threaten the lives of bees and other insects.
