Vittoria storica nella lotta contro il brutale festival del toro

PACMA lotta già da undici anni contro il festival Toro de la Vega, un evento in cui centinaia di uomini inseguono un toro e lo accoltellano a morte con delle lance. L’eurodeputato del Partito per gli Animali Anja Hazekamp ha dimostrato l’anno scorso con PACMA per le strade di Madrid, seguita da un centinaio di migliaia di persone che ritengono che questo intrattenimento popolare orribile non è giustificabile e deve fermarsi.

Questi anni di lotta ora hanno portato alla decisione delle autorità regionali di non rilasciare quest’anno una licenza per questo festival brutale. Quest’anno, per la prima volta la polizia non agirà contro la protesta, ma sarà presente solo per evitare che il toro viene ucciso.

Una vittoria storica per PACMA, e un altro passo sulla strada verso una Spagna, dove gli animali non sono cacciati, feriti o uccisi come intrattenimento durante le feste e corride.

For 11 years, PACMA has been fighting against the Toro de la Vega festival, an event where hundreds of men chase after a bull and then kill it with lances. Last year, Party for the Animals MEP Anja Hazekamp demonstrated together with PACMA in the streets of Madrid, followed by one hundred thousand people who believed that this cruel popular entertainment was unjustifiable and had to stop.

The years-long fight has now led to the regional authorities deciding not to grant a permit for the cruel festival this year. This year is the first time that the police will not act against the protest, but that they will be there to prevent the bull from being killed.

A historic victory for PACMA, and again one step closer to a Spain where animals are not chased, injured or killed for entertainment during festivals or bull fights.
