Victoria histórica en la lucha contra el Toro de la Vega

El PACMA lleva ya once años luchando contra la fiesta del Toro de la Vega, un evento en el que cientos de hombres acosan con lanzas a un toro hasta matarlo. Anja Hazekamp, europarlamentaria del Partido por los Animales de Holanda, participó el año pasado junto al PACMA en una manifestación por las calles de Madrid a la que acudieron cien mil personas que también opinan que esta forma de diversión popular no tiene justificación posible y debe terminar de una vez por todas.

Gracias a esa lucha de muchos años, las autoridades regionales no han concedido este año el permiso para la celebración de esta cruel fiesta. Este año, por primera vez, la policía no actuará contra la manifestación de protesta, sino que estará presente para evitar que se mate al toro.

Una victoria histórica para el PACMA y un paso más hacia una España en la que no se persigan, hieran y maten animales como forma de diversión durante las fiestas populares y las corridas de toros.

For 11 years, PACMA has been fighting against the Toro de la Vega festival, an event where hundreds of men chase after a bull and then kill it with lances. Last year, Party for the Animals MEP Anja Hazekamp demonstrated together with PACMA in the streets of Madrid, followed by one hundred thousand people who believed that this cruel popular entertainment was unjustifiable and had to stop.

The years-long fight has now led to the regional authorities deciding not to grant a permit for the cruel festival this year. This year is the first time that the police will not act against the protest, but that they will be there to prevent the bull from being killed.

A historic victory for PACMA, and again one step closer to a Spain where animals are not chased, injured or killed for entertainment during festivals or bull fights.
