Partis pour les animaux dans le monde entier soutiennent manifestation de masse contre la tauromachie
On 15 September, the Spanish Party for the Animals, Partido Animalista (PACMA), will organise its annual mass protest against bullfighting in Madrid. PACMA is urging everyone to take part in their protest, called ‘Misión Abolición’ – Abolition Mission – by coming to Madrid, signing the petition or joining the social media campaign, starting tomorrow. Every one of PACMA’s sister parties, including the Dutch Party for the Animals, is supporting PACMA’s campaign.

Every year thousands of people join the demonstration, making it the largest protest against bullfighting in the world. This year, PACMA will pay particular attention to the notorious ‘becerradas’, the name given to bullfights involving very young bulls and cows under two years old. Like adult fighting bulls, the young animals in these bullfights are tortured and killed. These animals are essentially just baby animals who are still weaned on mother’s milk. Their coordination is not developed yet, causing them to keep falling over. Their horns are not even fully formed yet. The young, defenceless calves do not stand a chance.
Thousands of becerradas take place in Spain every year. There is no way of describing the suffering of these animals, but this video provides a view of the cruel reality.
Make yourself heard on social media
PACMA is urging everyone to show their support on 12 September by sharing a photo or video of themselves on social media – their faces painted with green or black stripes as shown in this video – using the hashtag #MisionAbolicion and #STOPBecerradas. The plan is to use every social media channel to its full extent in the coming days and thereby attract as much attention as possible to #MisionAbolicion on 15 September. PACMA is also urging people to call upon the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, to put an end to these atrocities, by sending a tweet to @sanchezcastejon.

Every year thousands of animals die a horrible death during bullfights: a misnomer for an event that has little to do with competition, since it involves a sword-wielding matador and a confused, mentally tortured and physically weakened animal. It is PACMA’s belief, as well as that of the citizens of Spain and 18 other parties for the animals worldwide, that it is high time to stop this cruel event once and for all.
Chaque année le 15 septembre le parti pour les animaux espagnol, Partido Animalista (PACMA), organise sa manifestation de masse contre la tauromachie à Madrid. PACMA appelle tout le monde à participer à la manifestation ‘Misión Abolición’ (« Mission d’abolition ») et à venir à Madrid, pour signer la pétition ou pour participer à la campagne par les médias sociaux dès demain. Tous les partis frères de PACMA, dont le Parti pour les Animaux néerlandais, soutiennent l’action de PACMA.
Chaque année cette manifestation attire des milliers de personnes et constitue la plus grande protestation contre la tauromachie dans le monde entier. Cette année PACMA accordera une attention particulière aux ‘becerradas’ tristement célèbres. Les becerradas sont les corridas avec de très jeunes taureaux et vaches en-dessous de deux ans. A ces corridas les animaux sont, juste comme les taureaux élevés pour les corridas, maltraités et tués. En fait ces animaux sont encore des veaux qui boivent encore du lait maternel. Ils n’ont pas encore une coordination bien développée, de sorte qu’ils tombent tout le temps. Ils ont en peine des cornes. Le jeune veau sans défense n’a aucune chance.
Chaque année des milliers de becerradas ont lieu en Espagne. La souffrance de ces animaux ne peut pas être décrit en paroles, mais cette vidéo montre un peu de la réalité cruelle.
Faites-vous entendre par les médias sociaux
PACMA demande à tous les gens d’apporter du soutien aux taureaux le 12 septembre par les médias sociaux en partageant une photo ou une vidéo d’eux-mêmes, le visage peint avec des lignes vertes et noires, comme on peut le voir dans cette vidéo, avec le hashtag #MisionAbolicion et #STOPBecerradas. L’intention est de profiter le plus que possible des médias sociaux et avoir beaucoup d’attention pour #MisionAbolicion du 15 septembre. Vous trouvez plus d’informations en espagnol ici. Chaque année des milliers de taureaux sont soumis à une mort horrible pendant les corridas : un titre mal choisi pour un événement où il y a peu de compétition entre le matador avec son épée et un animal confus, torturé mentalement et affaibli physiquement. PACMA – ainsi que les habitants de l’Espagne et 18 autre partis pour les animaux dans le monde entier – trouvent qu’il est grand temps de mettre fin à ces cruautés une bonne fois pour toutes.
