Entierro festivo de los tratados de libre comercio TTIP y CETA

Miles de personas, incluidos Johnas van Lammeren, presidente del grupo parlamentario del partido en Amsterdam, y otros muchos miembros del Partido por los Animales, enterraron simbólicamente los tratados de libre comercio TTIP y CETA en Amsterdam el pasado sábado 31 de mayo. El entierro festivo de TTIP y CETA formó parte de una manifestación contra estos controvertidos tratados de libre comercio que constituyen una amenaza para la democracia, el bienestar animal, el medioambiente y la salud pública.

El Partido por los Animales lleva ya mucho tiempo tirando del carro de las protestas contra TTIP y CETA, los tratados de libre comercio entre Europa, EE. UU. y Canadá. Especialmente en el terreno de la agricultura y la alimentación, estos acuerdos tendrán consecuencias muy negativas para el medioambiente, la salud pública y la libertad de elección del consumidor. La armonización de los estándares de producto y las normas de seguridad que contemplan estos tratados tienen como consecuencia una rebaja de los estándares existentes en Europa para el medioambiente y el bienestar animal, entre otras cosas. El Partido por los Animales pide al Gobierno holandés que detenga las negociaciones sobre TTIP y anule la entrada en vigor de CETA.

A thousand people, including many members of the Party for the Animals and party chairman Johnas van Lammeren of the Amsterdam municipal council party group of the Party for the Animals, symbolically buried the free trade agreements TTIP and CETA in Amsterdam on Saturday the 31st of May last. The festive funeral of the TTIP and CETA was a protest action against the controversial free trade agreements TTIP and CETA, which represent a serious threat to democracy, animal welfare, the environment, and public health.

The Party for the Animals has been taking the lead in the protest against TTIP and CETA, the trade treaties between Europe and the United States and Canada for some time. These agreements will certainly have far-reaching effects on the environment, animal welfare, public health and consumers’ freedom of choice. The harmonisation of product standards and safety regulations within these free trade agreements will lead to the deterioration of the European standards for the environment and animal welfare among others. The Party for the Animals calls on the government to end the negotiations on TTIP and to annul the CETA.
