„Anja Hazekamp – europarlamentarul cel mai prietenos cu animalele”
Anja Hazekamp a fost aleasă de către colegii săi din Parlamentul European drept europarlamentarul cel mai prietenos cu animalele. Ea a primit pentru aceasta o distincție. Hazekamp este ‘onorată’ de premiu, însă nu l-a primit în persoană.
”Premierile anuale și diferitele distincții au fost sponsorizate de industria gigantică a lobby-ului de la Bruxelles. În plus, nu este foarte clar cum au avut loc nominalizările. Deși premiul pentru ‘bunăstarea animalelor’ nu este unul sponsorizat, nu m-am simțit foarte bine să fiu prezentă la o astfel de petrecere de lobby”, a declarat Hazekamp.
”Bineînțeles că sunt onorată că protectorii animalelor și organizațiile de mediu apreciază Partidul pentru Animale și că majoritatea din cei 750 de colegi europarlamentari m-au votat drept membrul cel mai prietenos cu animalele din Parlamentul European. Să sperăm că acești colegi din parlament vor vota și pentru propunerile prietenoase cu animalele ale Partidului pentru Animale, căci astfel se concretizează ceva și pentru animale.”
Anja Hazekamp has been proclaimed the most animal-friendly MEP by her colleagues of the European Parliament, and was presented with an award. Hazekamp “feels honoured”, but hasn´t collected the award in person.
“The annual award ceremony and the different awards are sponsored by the immense industry lobby in Brussels. On top of that, it is unclear how the nominations have come about. Although the award for ‘animal welfare’ is one of the few awards that are not sponsored, it does not feel right to be part of a lobby party like this,” says Hazekamp.
“Naturally I am honoured that the Party for the Animals is appreciated by animal protectionists and environmental organisations and that the majority of my 750 fellow MEPs have voted me the most animal-friendly Member of Parliament. Hopefully these colleagues will also vote in favour of the Party for the Animal’s animal-friendly proposals in parliament, so that the animals themselves will benefit as well.”
