Worldlog Semena 12 – 2014
Como é bom fazer campanha. É emocionante pensar que daqui a três dias saberemos o resultado das eleições locais. Nós participaremos nas eleições em 12 municípios na Holanda e naturalmente esperamos ganhar representação em todos os 12 municípios.
Na terça-feira eu estive em Amsterdão onde começamos com o plantio de um bosque de protesto. Plantar árvores juntamente com crianças de uma escola primária! Por toda parte na capital cresce a resistência contra o corte em massa de árvores. E com razão, pois justamente na cidade as árvores são essenciais para a vida. Uma cidade verde usa menos energia, é fresca em dias de muito calor e mantém os pés secos em dias de muita chuva. Em imediações verdes as crianças brincam mais fora de casa e correm menos o risco de desenvolver excesso de peso e diabetes. Por isso o Partido para os Animais diz: Não corte mas plante árvores!
Quarta-feira foi o dia nacional da Plantação de Árvores. Muitas escolas primárias na Holanda participam nesse dia e deixam seus alunos plantarem árvores. Por toda parte no país tantos como 115.000 crianças plantaram 200.000 árvores e arbustos, ou seja, o equivalente de 80 campos de futebol! Eu também ajudei esse ano. Juntamente com o líder do partido em Arnhem Leo de Groot e o membro de Estado Provincial de Gelderland Luuk van der Veer fui plantar árvores em Elst. Antes da plantação houve um debate juvenil entre 650 crianças e políticos nacionais e locais. As crianças escolheram o Partido para os Animais como o vencedor do debate. Dá boas esperanças para o futuro ver que as crianças de hoje escolhem 100% o lado dos animais, da natureza e do meio-ambiente. É uma grande honra que as crianças presentes proclamaram em massa o Partido para os Animais como sendo o mais verde.
O prémio foi uma macieira a qual em seguida eu plantei junto com as crianças. Questionamos se a natureza faz parte da responsabilidade do município e se a educação sobre a natureza deve ser incluída como matéria obrigatória nas escolas. As crianças foram praticamente unânimes em afirmar que pelo menos uma vez por semana devem ser dadas aulas sobre a natureza. Elas também acham muito importante que o governo e os municípios façam investimentos na natureza porque os seres humanos e os animais não podem viver sem a natureza.
Foi uma semana dos prémios pois ainda por cima eu ganhei o Powervrouwen Awards (prémio para mulheres capazes) de 2014 na categoria ‘política’ que me foi entregue pelos radio-ouvintes de Sky Radio. Foi óptimo receber esse Powervrouw Award. 50 anos após “Power to the People’ agora ‘Power to the Planet’ é reconhecido pelos ouvintes de Sky Radio. Esta é muito claramente uma outra maneira de pensar. Com a ajuda dos ouvintes de Sky Radio o Partido para os Animais ainda poderá tornar-se muito grande!
Ademais na quinta-feira eu estive em Rotterdam onde houve uma acção para chamar a atenção para a rua que em segundo lugar é a mais gravemente poluída na Holanda. O trânsito de veículos por essa rua é demasiado intenso. E depois, na quinta-feira de noite houve ainda um interessante serão organizado pelo líder do nosso partido na Haia sobre um plano muito bom para o emprego chamado PROHEF cuja introdução o nosso partido aprovaria muito. Eu expliquei as nossas ideias sobre a possibilidade de dar um novo impulso ao emprego na Holanda.
PROHEF é um sistema pelo qual os municípios adiantam os ‘loonheffingen’ (o conjunto de impostos sobre os salários) por meio de um subsidio orçamentalmente neutral. Dessa maneira os empresários podem assumir pessoal com menos custos e correndo menos riscos. Para compensar a baixa da renda do governo causada pela falta dos ‘loonheffingen’ pode ser introduzida uma taxa sobre os resultados alcançados mais ou menos semelhante à maneira pela qual o IVA (Imposto sobre o Valor Acrescentado) é organizado. Porém, este não é um imposto sobre o consumo mas uma taxa cobrada posteriormente ao produtor em troca dos custos salariais mais baixos. Nós pensamos que PROHEF pode ter êxito na solução do alto desemprego na Holanda. Certamente vai ser continuado!

We really enjoy campaigning. It will be another few days before we know the result of the local elections, it’s exciting. We participate in 12 municipalities in the Netherlands and we hope that we will at least be represented in all 12 municipalities.
On Tuesday, I was in Amsterdam where we started planting a protest wood. We planted the trees together with children from a primary school! Everywhere in the capital the protest against the massive felling of trees is growing. And justifiably, because the trees in the city are of vital importance. A green city consumes less energy, is cool on summer days and keeps your feet dry when it rains hard. Children who live in a green area play more outside and run less risk of developing overweight and diabetes. That’s why the Party for the Animals says: stop felling and start planting!
Last Wednesday it was national Tree Planting Day. It’s a day that many primary schools join in with and have their pupils plant trees. All over the country as many as 115,000 children planted 200,000 trees and shrubs, which equals 80 football fields. This year I was also there to help. Together with the leading candidate in Arnhem Leo de Groot and member of the Provincial Council Luuk van der Veer (Gelderland) I went to plant trees in Elst. Before we started planting the trees, there was a youth debate with 650 children and national and local politicians. The children chose the Party for the Animals as winner of the debate. It is hopeful for the future that the children of today go 100% for animals, nature and the environment. I find it an honour that almost all children that were there called the Party for the Animals as greenest party.
The prize was an apple tree, which I then planted together with the children. The debate addressed questions such as should nature be a municipal task and should education on nature be a compulsory subject at school. The children almost unanimously agreed that lessons on nature should be given at least once a week. They also found it very important that the government and all municipalities make investments in nature because humans and animals cannot live without nature.
It was a week of awards since I also won the Power Women Award 2014 in the category ‘Politics’, presented by the listeners of the Sky Radio station. It is wonderful to have received this Power Women Award. It is 50 years after ‘Power to the People’ and ‘Power to the Planet’ has now gained acknowledgement by the listeners of Sky Radio. Clearly a different way of thinking. The Party for the Animals might grow very strong with the help of the Sky Radio listeners.
On Thursday I was also present at a protest in Rotterdam where attention was asked for the second most polluted street of the Netherlands. There is too much traffic racing through that street. On Thursday night, our leading candidate in The Hague organised an interesting night to present a very good employment plan named PROHEF, which our Party would like to have implemented. There, I elaborated on our ideas to boost the employment in the Netherlands.
PROHEF is a system whereby municipalities advance withholding taxes through budget neutral subsidies. It enables entrepreneurs to take on staff with less risk and costs. To compensate the lower government income for the loss of the withholding taxes, a levy may be implemented on the booked result, this is slightly comparable to how the VAT system works. However, this is not a ‘consumer tax’ but a ‘producer tax’ that is paid in arrears, in exchange for lower wage costs. We think that PROHEF will be very successful to solve the high employment in the Netherlands. Will surely be continued!
