Nog twee en een halve week tot de Europese verkiezingen op 22 mei. In Nederland stemmen we op een donderdag, maar de meeste landen gaan pas op zondag 25 mei naar de stembus. Dus het duurt ook voor ons tot zondag 25 mei voordat de uitslag bekend is. De eerste stem is al binnen vanuit California!
Laat de EU “turbozwijnen“ uit de VS toe via een vrijhandelsakkoord? Dat hangt er dus vanaf wat je stemt op 22 mei.
In Nederland zijn er meerdere stemhulpen op internet. Via korte vragenlijsten kan je er dan achter komen welke partij het beste bij je past. We zijn bij een agrarische stemhulp als derde meest gekozen partij uit de bus gekomen. Steeds meer agrariërs ontdekken dat de Partij voor de Dieren de beste partij voor de boeren is!
Hecht je veel waarde aan privacy? Volgens de Privacy Barometer hebben mensen dan de keuze uit 3 partijen om op te stemmen bij de EU-verkiezingen, waaronder onze partij!
Vorige week is ons Zwartboek Gifklikker.nl ‘We houden ons hart vast en onze adem in’ met meer dan 350 meldingen van verontruste burgers over gifgebruik gepubliceerd. Afgelopen jaar hebben honderden mensen op onze website www.Gifklikker.nl zeer gevaarlijke situaties gemeld en hun zorgen geuit over landbouwgif in hun leefomgeving. Onder grote belangstelling overhandigde mijn collega Esther Ouwehand woensdag het eerste exemplaar van het zwartboek aan een campinghoudster die naast een leliekwekerij woont.
Nederland staat in de top drie van landen met het hoogste gifgebruik ter wereld. Als er gif gespoten is hebben mensen regelmatig hoofdpijn, last van hun keel en een misselijk gevoel. Ook treden vermoeidheidsklachten op. De belangrijkste zorg van omwonenden zit echter in de effecten van landbouwgif op de lange termijn. Omwonenden zijn bang voor het ontstaan van ziektes als Parkinson, Alzheimer en verschillende vormen van kanker. Ze vrezen vooral voor de gezondheid van hun kinderen en kleinkinderen.

Another 2.5 weeks to go until the European Elections on 22 May. In the Netherlands, we will be voting on a Thursday, but most countries will not go to the ballot boxes until Sunday 25 May. So we will also have to wait for the results until Sunday 25 May. The first vote has already been cast from California!
Will the EU allow “turbo swines“ from the US via a free trade agreement? That depends on what you vote on 22 May.
In the Netherlands, we have several voting aides on the internet. Through short questionnaires, you can find out what party suits you best. In an agricultural voting aide, we came out as third most chosen party. More and more farmers are discovering that the Party for the Animals is the best party for farmers!
Do you attach great importance to privacy? In that case, according to the Privacy Barometer, people can choose from 3 parties to vote on in the EU elections, including our party!
Last week, our book Black book Poison Squealer.nl ‘We have our hearts in our throats and are holding our breath’ was published, containing more than 350 reports from concerned citizens about the use of poison. Last year, hundreds of people reported extremely dangerous situations on our website www.Gifklikker.nl and expressed their concerns about pesticides in their environment. On Wednesday, amid great interest, my colleague Esther Ouwehand handed the first copy of the black book to a campsite manager who lives next to a lily nursery.
The Netherlands are in the top 3 of countries with the highest use of pesticides in the world. When pesticides are sprayed, people often suffer from headaches, sore throats and nausea. They may also suffer from fatigue. The main concern of residents, however, are the long-term effects of pesticides. They fear the development of diseases such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and various forms of cancer. They particularly fear for the health of their children and grandchildren.
