Conférence internationale sur les chiens errants à Madrid connaît un grand succès
Le Parti pour les Animaux (PvdD) néerlandais vient d’organiser, avec son parti-frère espagnol PACMA, une conférence internationale sur la problématique des chiens errants le week-end dernier à Madrid. Des représentants des partis pour les animaux et d’organisations actives dans le domaine du bien-être animal de plus de 20 pays ont pu y échanger leurs expériences dans le but d’améliorer la situation des chiens errants dans le monde entier.
Au cours de la conférence, qui avait lieu du 29 septembre au 1er octobre, des participants de toutes les régions du monde – de l’Espagne à Taïwan, de la Géorgie à l’Australie et de la Colombie à l’Équateur – ont partagé leurs connaissances et ils se sont inspirés les uns des autres pour trouver des solutions politiques favorables aux animaux afin d’éradiquer la problématique mondiale des chiens errants. Des experts éminents de la coalition International Companion Animal Management (ICAM) ont partagé leur expertise avec les invités présents.
Les organisations de protection des animaux issues de différents pays ont partagé de nombreuses expériences intéressantes de leur propre pays. Ainsi, une organisation ukrainienne a raconté sur leurs outils numériques hautement innovants et efficaces, mais aussi bon marché, pour l’enregistrement et le suivi des animaux errants, le soi-disant Animal-ID. Sally Kadaoui a parlé de sa manière unique, personnelle et réussie d’impliquer les communautés locales dans la ville marocaine de Tanger afin d’améliorer la situation des chiens. Elle montre que si l’on s’occupe des animaux, les gens en profitent aussi.
Conférence de Marianne Thieme
Un discours de Marianne Thieme faisait également partie de la conférence. En tant que fondateur et président du groupe parlementaire du PvdD néerlandais, Thieme a parlé devant une salle comblée dans le Musée Lázaro Galdiano, sur le rôle du parti dans la promotion du débat sur les droits des animaux, tant aux Pays-Bas qu’au-delà. Elle a également expliqué la nécessité de l’influence politique pour améliorer la position des animaux, de la nature et de l’environnement. Ces sujets sont clairement très populaires à Madrid, parce que la salle était complètement comble.
Mouvement international croissant
Le Parti pour les Animaux est le premier parti politique au monde qui ne se concentre pas sur les intérêts à court terme de l’humanité, mais qui met la planète entière et tous ses habitants au centre de l’attention. Le parti remporte des succès majeurs et compte actuellement 53 représentants, dont cinq au Parlement néerlandais, deux au Sénat néerlandais et un au Parlement Européen. Il y a maintenant 18 partis pour les animaux dans le monde entier.
AMSTERDAM, 4 October 2017 – Last weekend, the Dutch Party for the Animals (PftA) and Spanish sister party PACMA organised an international conference on the stray dog problem. Representatives of parties for animals and animal welfare organisations from 20 countries shared their experiences with the aim of improving the situation of stray dogs worldwide.
During the conference, participants from all parts of the world – from Serbia to Taiwan, from Georgia to Morocco and from Colombia to Oman – exchanged knowledge and inspired one another to reach animal friendly solutions to the worldwide stray dog problem through politics.
Senator Christine Teunissen (PftA): “There are approximately 600 million stray dogs worldwide. National and local governments often use cruel and ineffective policies to control stray dog populations. Dogs are often poisoned or shot off. This happens without results: the growth of the stray dog population still continues. We support organizations and parties who want to change this through (local) political solutions.”
Animal welfare organisations from several countries shared experiences from their own countries. A Ukrainian organisation talked about its highly innovative and affordable digital tool for the registration and monitoring of stray animals, the so-called Animal-ID. Moroccan delegate Sally Kadaoui discussed her unique and successful method to involve local communities near the Moroccan city Tangier in improving the situation of stray dogs in that region.
Marianne Thieme’s lecture
As part of the conference, Marianne Thieme gave a lecture. In a hall of Museum Lázaro Galdiano, Thieme, being the PftA’s founder and political chairman, discussed the party’s role in encouraging the animal rights debate in the Netherlands as well as abroad. She also outlined the importance of political interference in improving the status of animals, nature and the environment; clearly live issues in Madrid, as Thieme’s lecture was sold out.
Growing international movement
The Party for the Animals is the world’s first political party representing not only short-term human interests, but the interests of the entire planet and all its inhabitants. Being electorally successful, the party currently has 53 elected representatives, five of which are in the Dutch Parliament, two in the Dutch Senate and one in the European Parliament. No Dutch political party was ever as successful as a ‘export product’ as the Dutch PftA. There are currently 18 parties for animals worldwide. On Sunday, October 1st, the last day of the conference, the Portuguese party for the animals (Pessoas-Animais-Natureza, or “PAN”) made huge gains in the Portuguese local elections: the party gained a total of 32 seats at local elections and is now represented in 78% of the Portuguese municipalities.
