Помогите спасти норвежских волков

NOAH, the leading animal rights organisation in Norway, calls upon organisations all over Europe to help save the wolves in Norway.

The Norwegian regional wildlife management boards want to hunt down three wolf packs in the so-called ‘wolf zone’ that makes up only 5% of Norwegian territory and is meant to give wolves higher protection than in the rest of the country.

The wolf is a critically endangered species in Norway but government authorities allow extensive culling. There are areas in Norway designated as protected wolf zones but these zones only amount to five percent of the country’s total land area. Culling licences are quickly issued whenever a wolf finds itself on “the wrong side” of the invisible border. Now the authorities want to hunt even in the five percent protected wolf territory.

You can help save the wolves
The leading Norwegian animal protection organisation NOAH is asking everyone to help save the wolves. Everyone can help by sending an e-mail to the Norwegian Prime Minister and the Minister of the Environment of Norway and ask them to let the three wolf packs live:

Члены норвежского регионального управления дикой природы решили отстрелить три стаи волков в так называемой «волчьей зоне», которая составляет лишь 5% территории Норвегии и предназначена для того, чтобы дать волкам более высокую защиту, чем в остальной части страны.

Волк — находящийся под угрозой исчезновения вид в Норвегии, однако иногда правительственные власти допускают эффективный контроль популяции. В Норвегии есть районы, обозначенные как охраняемые зоны для волков, но эти зоны составляют лишь пять процентов от общей площади страны. Официальное разрешение на отстрел хищников можно очень быстро получить, как только волк оказывается на «неправильной стороне» невидимой границы. Теперь власти хотят охотиться даже на пятипроцентной охраняемой территории, предназначенной для волков.
