Partido dirigido a un solo tema

En la semana entrante se sabrá si el Partido para los Animales será el primer partido político del mundo en el Parlamento Europeo teniendo como tema principal los animales, la naturaleza y el medio ambiente. El 4 de junio lo sabremos y les informare sobre los resultados en la semana entrante. También durante nuestra campaña para el Parlamento Europeo se nos echo continuamente en la cara ser un partido que se enfoca en un solo tema. Y nosotros mas bien expresamos a cada rato que somos el único partido con un enfoque hacia todo el planeta. Hasta hemos dedicado un comercial a ese tema donde mostramos que si nos enfocamos hacia una sola cosa: la importancia de la tierra.

La importancia creciente que ponen los simpatizantes del Partido para los Animales les permite – a pesar de sus diferentes experiencias anteriores – unirse en la lucha contra toda la injusticia que viven los animales. Es una importancia sobresaliente que el humano aprovechara igual como por ejemplo los pájaros, las ranas, las gorrillas, el ciervo, el ratón en el centro de experimentos o el tanto buscado cerdo montes.
Una importancia sobresaliente que une la vida dentro del ecosistema y que degrada mas bien la política actual a una política dirigida a un solo tema: el pensar en forma limitada sobre la importancia del humano en el mundo occidental y su posición financiera. Por esto vale la pena poner en duda tal importancia sobresaliente y mostrarlo a todas aquellas personas que envidian el éxito de la misión del Partido para los Animales. Puede ser que alguno de los partidos tradicionales mire a veces mas allá que sus propios metas que otros pero la importancia de los otros seres vivientes fuera de los humanos queda siempre secundaria para la política establecida.

Después de dos años en el parlamento Holandés muchos periodistas impacientes nos preguntan: Que cosas ha alcanzado el Partido para los Animales durante los dos años pasados? Es notable que nunca hicieron tal pregunta a un partido como SGP (Partido Reformado) que ya cumple 80 años. Obviamente hay grandes expectativas o existe una gran esceptismo. En todo caso es visible para todo el mundo que nosotros en dos años hemos logrado mas acercarnos a una sociedad más respetuosa hacia los animales que el SGP ha podido lograr en ochenta años tratando de reformar a la sociedad, y felizmente es así.

Como no operamos desde la tradicional izquierda-derecha pero desde una importancia sobresaliente con un enfoque mucho más amplio, el partido tiene también una influencia desproporcionadamente grande. Inmediatamente después del primer debate luego de nuestra entrada en el parlamento fue obvio que el Partido para los Animales seria el voto final en el caso de permitir o no un perdón general para los asilados que ya habían esperado demasiado su destino. Nuestro punto en tal caso provenía de nuestro programa político del partido. Como el bloque de la izquierda y de la derecha forma un balance exacto, nuestros dos votos podían influir la decisión final. Esto es muy único. Esto hace muy visible e importante nuestra participación y hace que los demás partidos no nos pueden ver como ‘solamente dos sillas mas’.
Los políticos de otros partidos en muchos casos necesitan nuestra ayuda para obtener una mayoría y esto nos da una influencia extra, también en temas que son primordiales para nosotros mismos.
Formando parte de un movimiento emancipatorio nos da también la oportunidad de apoyar a otros movimientos en su lucha como por ejemplo el derecho de las madres lesbianas. También tenemos un voto en asuntos alrededor de los matrimonios homosexuales y empleados públicos que niegan casar a dos personas del mismo sexo.
Distanciándose de la política vieja y alejándonos de las corrientes existentes ideológicas y luchando por una división clara entre iglesia y estado, el Partido para los Animales puede seguir representando en forma duradera, la importancia sobresaliente a un nivel político mas alto. Todas las personas que quieren luchar por los animales, la naturaleza y el medio ambiente y con ello por un futuro duradero para los humanos, puede sentirse unido al Partido para los Animales.
Somos ahora el partido que crece mas rápidamente en cuanto al numero de miembros, logramos éxitos como más fondos para alternativas para pruebas animales, una prohibición de las jaulas para gallinas ponedoras y el establecimiento de una transición hacia una sociedad más vegetal. Formamos un floodlight para los portavoces de otros partidos políticos que obtienen mas espacio en sus fracciones en su lucha para los animales y esto únicamente por nuestra presencia y la amenaza que causamos.

Somos un partido Big Issue (de muchos temas), algo que pocos otros partidos pueden decir!

Single issue
This week we will find out if the Party for the Animals will be the first political party in the world that focuses on animals, nature and environment to win seats in the European Parliament. D-Day is 4 June, I will update you all next week.
We were often incorrectly accused of being a single issue party when we were running for European Parliament
whereas in reality we continuously state that we are the only party to take a planet-wide approach. We even dedicated a television commercial to the theme in which we showed that we are indeed focusing on one thing: the interests of the earth.

The Party for the Animals adherents focus on one overriding interest, which means they are able to come together to fight against injustice to animals despite their different backgrounds.
This overriding interest benefits people just as much as any sparrow, frog, gorilla, illegally expelled American elk, test subject mouse or viciously hunted wild boar.
This overriding interest connects all the life in our ecosystem. It is actually the incumbent politicians who reduce this to single issue politics – they only care about westerners and their money. It is therefore worth while for everyone who spites the Party for the Animals their success in this mission to call this overriding interest into question.
Some parties can of course look beyond the interests of their own species better than others, but still the interests of other living creatures remain to most established politicians a political detail of secondary importance.

Once we had been in parliament for two years, many impatient journalists asked us: ‘What has the Party for the Animals actually achieved these past two years?’ We find it interesting that this question has never been asked with as much impatience of the eighty-year old Netherlands Reformed Political Party (Nederlandse Staatkundig Gereformeerde Partij, SGP). Either expectations are obviously running high, or we are dealing here with a very high level of scepticism. At any rate is clear to see that we have brought the Netherlands closer to being an animal-friendly society in two years than the SGP has bought the Netherlands closer to being a politically reformed society in eighty years – and it is just as well.

Because we do not operate from the traditional position of right against left, but from a position of overriding interest that covers much more than other political parties, the Party for the Animals enjoys a disproportionate amount of influence. al parties, the Psparties, the Psom a position of overriding interstinel of scpimals, nature and environment to wi It was obvious from our first debate after entering parliament that the Party for the Animals held the deciding vote in the question of whether or not asylum seekers who had been left too long without having their cases processed should be given free access to the Netherlands. Our standpoint in this issue was unambiguously represented in our manifesto, and because the left and right blocks had each other at a stand-off, our two votes decided the issue. That is a special position to occupy. It makes our input is highly visible and significant and it ensures that other parties see us as so much more than 'just two seats'.
Politicians from other parties often need our support in order to have the majority, giving us extra power – especially where the Party’s key issues are concerned.
We are part of an emancipation movement so we take the opportunity to support other emancipation movements, such as the fight for equal rights by lesbian co-parents (a woman who parents a child with their partner but who did not bear the child themselves) and we make our voices heard in questions surrounding gay marriage and its denialists.
Because we avoid political parochialism, because we stand apart from existing ideological trends, and because we stand for a definitive separation of church and state, the Party for the Animals can keep represent our overriding interest at the highest political level. Anyone who wants to take a stand for animals, nature and the environment, thereby ensuring a sustainable future for humans, has a place within the Party for the Animals.
We are currently the political party with the fastest growing political base, we are fighting and winning for alternatives to animal testing, a ban on battery eggs and creating a transition towards a more plant-based society. We shine the spotlight on representatives from other political parties that create the space within their ranks to let others make a stand for animals too, something that our mere presence in parliament, and the electoral threat that carries, has effected.

We are a 'Big Issue' party – not very many other parties can say the same!
