‘No a una provisional entrada en vigor del tratado de libre comercio de CETA’
Marianne Thieme pide al gobierno no dejar entrar en vigor provisoriamente a CETA. La Union Europea quiere que el ttratado de libre comercio entre la Unidad Europea y Canada entre en vigor cuanto antes. Si depende del Partido para los Animales tal trado no llegara en absoluto, pero de todos modos no antes de que el pueblo holandes haya dado su opinión.
Dada la gran oposición a los tratados de libre comercio un referéndum sobre CETA sera inevitable. Marianne Thieme ha llamado al Parlamento y durante la consulta general del RBZ Consejo de Comercio, no dejar que CETA entre en vigor antes de que el pueblo holandes se haya podido expresar al respecto.
Thieme: “Existe una gran oposición social a CETA. Sin embargo, Bruselas quiere aplicar el tratado ya provisionalmente, mientras que los parlamentos nacionales aun no hayan dado la luz verde para el tratado. Desde la sociedad existe un llamado fuerte para un referendum. La democracia debe ser respetada por Bruselas y el presente Consejo de Ministros“.
Puerta trasera para TTIP
Ahora que Francia y Alemania parecen oponerse contra TTIP , el tratado de libre comercio entre la UE y los EE.UU. se está muriendo. CETA ofrece una puerta trasera para las empresas Estadounidenses con una sucursal en Canadá para aun seguir el libre comercio con Europa. Por eso es aun mas importante que el ciudadano holandes pueda decir ‘no‘ a este radical tratado, aun antes de que pueda entrar en vigor.
Marianne Thieme calls on the Lower House to stop provisional application of CETA. The European Commission wants the free trade agreement between Canada and the EU to be implemented as soon as possible. Being against this agreement, the Party for the Animals wants to give the Dutch people a chance to speak out before it is entered into force.
In view of the considerable resistance to free trade agreements, a referendum on CETA is inevitable. During the General Consultations of the Foreign Affairs Council in the Lower House, Marianne Thieme has called on the government to stop provisional application of CETA and provide the people with the opportunity to give their views on the subject.
Thieme: “There is great social opposition to free trade agreement CETA. In spite of this, Brussels wants the agreement to be implemented provisionally, despite the fact that the national governments have not yet given their support. In society, there is an increasing demand for a referendum. Brussels and the Dutch government should respect democracy.”
Back door TTIP
Now that France and Germany seem to have turned against TTIP, the free trade agreement between the EU and the US is as good as dead. CETA will now serve as a back door allowing American companies with branches in Canada to keep engaging in free trade with Europe. Therefore it is even more important that Dutch citizens can say ‘no’ to this far-reaching agreement before it is implemented.
