Worldlog Semaine 45 – 2013

Au mois de mars le Parti pour les Animaux participera aux élections communales dans 12 communes! Je suis très fière de la manière dont notre parti se développe au niveau communal. Le parti aimerait augmenter continuellement le nombre de représentants politiques, mais nous veillons à ne pas grandir trop vite. Aujourd’hui nous sommes représentés dans six communes. En ce qui nous concerne ce nombre sera multiplié par deux après les élections 😉

Cette semaine nous avons posé des questions à l’Assemblée nationale néerlandaise concernant les nouvelles acceptations des productions de génie génétique dans l’Union Européenne. Nous voulons que le gouvernement votera contre l’acceptation de nouvelles plantes manipulées génétiquement. La manipulation génétique porte atteinte à l’intégrité des plantes et des animaux. Cette technique constitue aussi des risques pour les gens et la biodiversité. Il y aura beaucoup de problèmes car les sociétés transnationales utilisent la technologie pour produire des plantes manipulées génétiquement commerciales qui chargent fortement notre environnement et notre nourriture avec des pesticides. C’est-à-dire que l’introduction de ces plantes en Europe n’est pas une bonne idée pour la préservation de notre qualité de terre et de nourriture et notre liberté de choix !

Alors nous déclinons fortement la manipulation génétique et nous nous engageons depuis des années déjà pour une Europe et des Pays-Bas sans ingénierie génétique. La modification génétique et une grande utilisation de produits toxiques mèneront au déboisement, à l’empoisonnement de notre terre et de nos eaux souterraines et de surface. Cela mènera à la destruction de notre biodiversité essentielle vulnérable, inclus les transporteurs de pollen comme les abeilles, les bourdons et les papillons. Cela veut dire également que le consommateur sera dépendant d’une poignée d’entreprises qui monopolisent l’approvisionnement de nourriture.

Les plantes de génie génétique qui se trouvent sur les champs n’ont pas d’avantages pour l’environnement, ni pour le consommateur ni pour le petit paysan. Les avantages de l’ingénierie génétique tombent dans les mains de l’industrie et de grands paysans qui changent les anciennes forêts vierges en monocultures de soja manipulé génétiquement pour nourriture de bétail. De plus l’ingénierie génétique constitue une menace pour la culture actuelle et biologique car les plantes peuvent se mélanger. Nous voulons de l’agriculture sans manipulation génétique, sans pesticides agricoles et sans monocultures.

Bonne nouvelle! Bientôt il y aura une loi qui règlera que les gens avec un chien-guide ou d’aide ne seront plus refusés aux endroits publics. En ce moment il existe encore des situations où les gens handicapés ne sont pas acceptés dans les magasins, des restaurants, des hôtels et d’autres endroits quand ils veulent entrer avec leur chien-guide ou d’aide. Après une pétition et une motion de notre part le gouvernement a promis de créer rapidement une proposition de loi pour résoudre cette situation navrante. Tout annonce que cette proposition de loi sera présentée au début de l’année prochaine.

La semaine dernière j’ai déjà raconté que la fondation Animal Politics organise un symposium à Istanbul. Le symposium est organisé pour les gens qui s’intéressent aux droits d’animaux et à la politique des animaux et surtout pour les gens qui s’occupent de la théorie ou de l’usage politique de la jeune tendance politique influente d’Animal Politics. Le symposium aura lieu à Istanbul, parce qu’il y a un Parti pour les Animaux assez nouveau en Turquie, le Hayvan Partisi. En faisant le symposium à Istanbul, nous voulons supporter ce mouvement en Turquie.

Nous avons reçu les réponses du gouvernement à mes questions concernant la mise à mort des chiens errants en Roumanie. C’est-à-dire qu’en fait il n’y a pas de réponses. La conclusion est que notre gouvernement est d’avis que le gouvernement roumain doit faire sa propre politique…

Cette semaine il s’est révélé que la Chine aimerait exporter de la viande de chien. Juste comme les Pays-Bas qui exportent des veaux, des oreilles de porc et des poussins. Lisez plus de ce sujet au site http://guardianlv.com/2013/10/dog-me.

The Party for the Animals will participate in the municipal elections of March in twelve municipalities! I am really proud of the developments our Party is going through at municipal level. The Party wishes to steadily expand its number of political representatives, but we are careful not to grow too large too quickly. We are currently represented in six municipalities. And if we have any say in it, that number will have doubled after the elections 😉

This week, we asked Parliamentary questions about the new admission of gen-tech crops into the European Union. We want our Government to vote against the admission of new genetically manipulated crops. Genetic manipulation affects the integrity of plants and animals. This technology is also a great risk for people and the biodiversity. Many problems arise because multinationals use this technology to produce commercial genetically manipulated crops, which severely burden the environment and our food with pesticides. The introduction of these crops in Europe is thus not a good idea for maintaining our soil and food quality and our freedom of choice.

We strongly reject genetic manipulation and strived for years to ensure a genetic technology free Netherlands and Europe. Genetic modification and large-scale use of poisons will lead to deforestation, poisoning of our soil, and our soil and surface water. This will lead to the destruction of our vulnerable but essential biodiversity, including the pollinators such as bees, humblebees and butterflies. This also means that the consumer becomes dependant on a handful of companies which monopolise our food supply.

The gen-tech crops on the fields do not benefit the environment, nor the consumer or the small farmer. The benefits of gen-tech end up in the pockets of the industry and large farmers who have transformed former primeval forests into monocultures GM soy for livestock feed. Additionally, gen-tech is a threat to contemporary and organic farming because the crops can be mixed. We want an agriculture without genetic manipulation, without agricultural pesticides, and without monocultures.

Great news! A new law will soon be implemented that will no longer allow that people with a help dog or guide dog are denied access to public areas. At this moment, it still happens every day that people with a disability are denied access with their help or guide dog to shops, restaurants, hotels, and other facilities. After a petition and a motion from us, the Government promised to soon come with a bill to solve this distressing situation. The bill is expected at the start of the next year.

Last week, I told you that the Animal Politics Foundation is organising a symposium in Istanbul. The symposium is intended for people who are interested in animal rights and animal politics, and more specifically for people who are engaged in the theory or practice of the relatively young, but influential political movement of Animal Politics. The symposium is held in Istanbul because there is a relatively new Party for the Animals in Turkey, namely the Hayvan Partisi. By holding the symposium in Istanbul we want to support this movement in Turkey.

I have received the Government’s answers to my previous questions about the killing of stray dogs in Romania. Well, the fact is that there are no answers! The Government’s conclusion is that it is up to the Romanian government to formulate its own policy.

This week it became known that China wants to export dog meat. Just like the Netherlands is exporting calves, pig’s ears and chicks. Read more about this on http://guardianlv.com/2013/10/dog-me.
