Worldlog Semana 39 – 2015
El pasado martes tuvo lugar nuestro ‘Prinsjesdag’ (día para la apertura del Parlamento) y con ello las Consideraciones Políticas Generales. En tal ocasión el gobierno presenta sus planes para el próximo año parlamentario. Me di cuenta que nuestro gobierno quiere seguir gobernando en la misma línea destructiva. El Primer Ministro sigue pensando que “más, más, más” es bueno para nosotros. “Mas crecimiento económico y todo va para bien.” Pero hasta ahora ese enfoque sólo ha llevado a la crisis financiera, la crisis bancaria, la crisis climática, etc.
A todos los representantes de los partidos se les da la oportunidad de comentar sobre los planes del gobierno. Durante mi contribución he pedido al Consejo de Ministros que suelten la forma de pensar tan anticuada y optar por más humanidad, mas aire limpia, más naturaleza, más biodiversidad, más preocupación, más educación y más salud.
Como todos los años este día de ‘Prinsjesdag’ fue nuevamente una excelente oportunidad para hacer una declaración. Durante mucho tiempo yo advierto sobre el plan que viene en camino para un acuerdo de libre comercio entre la UE y los EE.UU., el llamado TTIP (Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership. Mi traje para ‘Prinsjesdag’ para este año fue una protesta contra TTIP y pidió al gobierno que cese las negociaciones TTIP.
Mi vestido de color naranja con la cruz negra estuvo en línea con las etiquetas de advertencia según la Ley de Sustancias Peligrosas. Mi sombrero simbolizo la nube oscura que se cierne sobre nosotros, gracias al acuerdo de libre comercio por venir entre la UE y los EE.UU. Para completar mi equipo me puse un ‘clutch’ (embrague) donde las Banderas europeas y americanas fluyen entre sí a través de una zona gris. Con mi ropa, yo quería advertir a la gente de los peligros que trae el TTIP para la democracia, el medio ambiente, el bienestar animal, la seguridad alimentaria y la biodiversidad.
Pero el pasado Martes, 15 de septiembre no fue solo un día especial por ser ‘Prinsjesdag’. Es que ese mismo día se inicio la prohibición total de la participación de animales salvajes en los circos! Fue fantástico experimentar que algo por lo que hemos luchado nosotros y muchas otras organizaciones por mucho tiempo se hizo realidad.
La fracción Europea de nuestro partido viajo para Madrid para protestar contra la masacre bárbara de toro Rompe-Suelas durante el evento de terror español Toro de la Vega. Mi colega Anja Hazekamp, eurodiputado del Partido por los Animales, demostró en las calles de Madrid con el partido español para los animales PACMA ‘, seguido por cientos de miles de personas que también quieren que se ponga un fin al Toro de la Vega. Durante Toro de la Vega cada ano en la ciudad española de Torillas se suelta un toro. El animal está siendo espantado por cientos de hombres a caballo ya pie mientras lo persiguen y lo apuñalan con lanzas. Este horrendo espectáculo público no se puede justificar de ninguna manera y tendrá que parar lo más antes posible!

This week, Budget Day and the Parliamentary Debate on the Speech from the Throne were held, where the government presented its plans for the next parliamentary year. It struck me that our government wants to continue governing in the same destructive manner. The Prime Minister still thinks that ‘more, more, more’ is good for us. ‘More economic growth and everything will turn out fine’. But until now this approach only led to a financial crisis, the bank crisis, the climate crisis, etc.
All party chairmen were given the opportunity to respond to the government’s plans. During my contribution I thus asked the government to let go of the fossil thinking and to opt for more humanity, cleaner air, more nature, more biodiversity, more care, more animal welfare, more education and more health.
As with every year, this year Budget Day was again a perfect opportunity to make a statement. I have been cautioning against the plan for a free trade agreement between the EU and the US, the so-called TTIP, for a long time. My outfit for this year’s Budget Day was a protest against TTIP and a call to the government to stop the TTIP negotiations.
My orange dress with the black cross was in line with the hazard labels according to the Dutch Chemical Substance Act. My hat symbolised the black cloud that is hanging over our heads because of the free trade agreement between the EU and the US. To complete my outfit I wore a clutch on which the European and American flags merge into each other through a grey area. With my outfit I wanted to warn against the dangers that TTIP brings for democracy, the environment, animal welfare, food security and biodiversity.
But last Tuesday, the 15th of September, was not just a special day because of Budget Day. The ban on the use of wild animals in circuses was also effected on that day. It is great to experience that something that we, and many other organisations, fought so hard and so long for has now become reality.
Our European Group travelled to Madrid to protest against the barbaric slaughtering of bull Rompe-Suelas during the Spanish horrific event Toro de la Vega. My colleague Anja Hazekamp, Euro MP of the Party for the Animals, demonstrated in the streets of Madrid together with the Spanish party for the animals ‘PACMA’, followed by a hundred thousand people who also want the Toro de la Vega to end. Every year at the Toro de la Vega, a bull is released in the Spanish town of Tordesillas and chased by hundreds of horsemen and runners and eventually lanced to death. This cruel public entertainment cannot be justified in any way and definitely has to be stopped!
