Worldlog Semana 26 – 2014
La semana pasada hicimos campaña con nuestra organización juvenil PINK! enfrente del edificio del banco escocés Royal Bank of Scotland en Ámsterdam. Este banco no pasa el test de la llamada Guía de Banca Honesta; un test de banca éticamente correcta. La Guía de Banca Honesta es iniciativa de entre otras Oxfam Novib, para estimular el tráfico bancario limpio y sostenible. Nuestro departamento científico NGPF pidió que esta organización investigara el funcionamiento del Royal Bank of Scotland en temas como derechos humanos, bienestar animal, medio ambiente y asuntos sensibles como son el tráfico de armas, la agricultura y minería.
PINK! iba vestida de quilts escoceses y cortaba imágenes de animales y naturaleza con una maquina desfibradora, enfrente del edificio del Banco Real de Escocia.
La Segunda Cámara banca con el Banco Real de Escocia, como hacen nuestros ministerios. El Partido para los Animales opina que las autoridades tienen su responsabilidad social y que no hay que trabajar con un banco que sea malo para la humanidad, los animales, la naturaleza y el medioambiente. Aparte, la Segunda Cámara indicó estimar la sostenibilidad y la función social de empresas. Allí cabe un banquero de casa que sí cumpla con los criterios de la Guía de Banca Honesta. Esta semana, durante el debate sobre las finanzas de la Segunda Cámara, propondremos cambiar de banco.

Lamentablemente, la semana pasada resultó que el gobierno siga dándoles plena oportunidad a los cazadores para la caza recreativa de patos, faisanes. liebres, conejos y palomas. Resulta de la nueva Ley Protectora de Naturaleza, presentada a la Segunda Cámara por la secretaria del estado de Finanzas la semana pasada.
El único punto de cambio (con respecto a la actual situación) es que habrá un ‘plan de eliminación selectiva’ que preceda la caza. Este plan será elaborado por ‘unidades de administración de fauna’, en las cuales tienen participación muy grande los mismos cazadores.
Los planes del gabinete estimulan la estafa de votantes. Los partidos CDA, PVV, VVD, D66, GroenLinks, PvdA, SP, ChristenUnie y Partij voor de Dieren apoyaron la prohibición de la caza recreativa en Holanda durante las elecciones. Aquello significa una mayoría de 145 miembros de La Cámara que, según sus promesas electorales, quieren terminar con esta forma de caza.
Con su proposición de ley, la secretaria del estado está diciendo a los cazadores: “Sigan haciendo lo suyo, pero apúntamelo antes.” Con el apoyo de la mayoría de Cámara pudo haber hecho un gran paso hacia la protección de animales salvajes, pero ella elige la preservación de la caza recreativa.
Presenté una nota de iniciativa para la prohibición de la caza recreativa. Tras estas proposiciones decepcionantes de la secretaria de estado, ¡pediré un debate!
¿Han visto esta película? Give bees a chance! Un vídeo ‘viral’ confrontacional acerca de la enorme mortandad de abejas por el uso de pesticidas y las consecuencias dramáticas de ello.
En los Países Bajos amenazan a 600 niños con expulsión del país. En demasiados casos se les deniega el permiso de estancia a ciertos niños, porque, por ejemplo, no siempre hubieran estado bajo la vigilancia de la administración pública, o porque por ley resultasen unos días demasiados mayores de edad. ¡Hay que cambiar esto! Por aquella razón apoyamos unas proposiciones en la Segunda Cámara que impiden la expulsión de niños que tienen derecho a protección.
Consideramos el interés del niño lo más importante y opinamos que en los Países Bajos haya más niños que tengan derecho al permiso de estancia, a pesar de su estatus como ‘ilegales’. Desgraciadamente las proposiciones no tuvieron mayoría de Cámara. Es penoso que expulsan a niños que han vivido aquí desde hace mucho tiempo, han ido a la escuela y han hecho amigos aquí. Había que incluir a estos niños en el llamado Perdón Infantil.

Last week, we and our youth organisation PINK! held a demonstration at Royal Bank of Scotland in Amsterdam, a bank that scores well below standard on all components of The Fair Bank Guide. At the request of our scientific bureau NGPF, The Fair Bank Guide examined how the bank scores on social issues, such as human rights, animal welfare and the environment, and sensitive sectors, such as the arms trade, agriculture and mining.
PINK! was dressed in Scottish kilts and destroyed images of animals and nature in a shredder in front of the Royal Bank of Scotland building.
Like our Ministries, the Lower House banks with Royal Bank of Scotland. The Party for the Animals believes that the government has a social responsibility and should not bank with a bank that is harmful to humans, animals, nature and the environment. In addition, the Lower House has indicated it is committed to environmental sustainability and social enterprising. That requires a principal banker that scores well on the criterions of The Fair Bank Guide. During the debate on financing of the Lower House this week, we will suggest changing banks!

Unfortunately, it became clear last week that this Cabinet will continue to give hunters every opportunity to keep shooting ducks, pheasants, hares, rabbits and pigeons for pleasure. This is evident from the new Nature Protection Act, which the State Secretary for Economic Affairs presented to the Lower House last week.
The only change compared to the current situation, is that a shooting plan must now underlay shooting for pleasure. The shooting plan is prepared by “fauna management units”, in which hunters have a major vote.
The Cabinet plans instigate deception of the electorate. During the elections, the Christian Democratic Alliance (CDA), Freedom Party (PVV), People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), Democrats 66 (D66), GreenLeft (GroenLinks), Labour Party (PvdA), Socialist Party (SP), ChristianUnion (ChristenUnie) and Party for the Animals indicated that “shooting for pleasure in the Netherlands should be prohibited”. This means there should be a majority of 145 Members of Parliament in the Lower House who want to end shooting for pleasure based on their election promises.
With her bill, The State Secretary is telling hunters ‘to continue doing what you have been doing, but write it down briefly beforehand”. With the aid of a Parliamentary majority, she could have made a big step towards the protection of animals in the wild, but she chose to maintain shooting for pleasure.
I submitted a private member’s bill to prohibit shooting for pleasure, and will now request for a debate, following the State Secretary’s disappointing proposals!

In the Netherlands, 600 children are in danger of being deported. Too many children are refused a residence permit because, for example, they were not always under the supervision of central government or they were just too old according to the law. This must change! We therefore supported proposals in the Lower House to prevent deportation of children who deserve protection.
We believe the interest of a child should come first and that more children have the right to a pardon to stay in the Netherlands in spite of everything. Unfortunately, the proposals were not supported by a Parliamentary majority. It is downright poignant that we reject children who have lived here for a long time, go to school and have friends. These children should also be covered by the Children’s Pardon!
