Worldlog Semana 22 – 2008

El fin de semana pasado tuvimos el congreso del partido (reunión de miembros). En él retrocedimos nuestra mirada a un año muy exitoso durante el cual conseguimos dos escaños en la Segunda Cámara, también ocho escaños en los Estados Provinciales y un escaño en el Senado. Aquí puede leer un resumen de mi discurso.

¡Los miembros del Congreso han estado de acuerdo con el consejo de la directiva del partido para participar en la elecciones europeas el verano del próximo año!. Con las campañas tendremos nuevamente un hermos y atareado año.

Peter Singer, catedrático en bio-ética de la Universidad Princeton, filósofo y uno de los fundadores de las ideas sobre el derecho de los animales, contó durante el congreso una historia muy inspirada. Fué un gran honor tenerlo en el congreso.

Our party congress (members’ meeting) was held last week. It was an opportunity to look back at a highly successful year in which we gained eight seats in the Provincial States and a seat in the senate in addition to our two seats in the lower house of parliament. Party members at the congress adopted the recommendation by the party executive committee to participate in the European elections to be held in the summer of next year! Next year promises to be an exciting and busy one full of intense campaigning.

Peter Singer, the Australian professor of bio-ethics at Princeton university, philosopher and one of the fathers of the animal rights movement, held a very inspirational speech during the congress. It was a true honour to have Professor Singer attend our congress.
