UE trebuie să ia măsuri împotriva îngrozitorului festival cu tauri
Partidul pentru Animale cere Europei să-și asume responsabilitatea și să solicite Spaniei să stopeze festivalul îngrozitor Toro de Jubilo, în cadrul căruia se dă foc unui taur. În timpul acestei „sărbători” spaniole anuale, un vițel este legat de un stâlp în piața centrală și folosind substanțe chimice se aprind coarnele animalului. Apoi taurul este eliberat și gonit până când moare după o agonie lungă.
“Europa se ascunde adesea în spatele scuzei că nu poate face legislație cu privire la tradiții. Aceasta nu înseamnă că poate trece cu vederea evenimente nedescris de terifiante, precum Toro de Jubilo. A trage la răspundere o țară pentru astfel de abuzuri este o necesitate dacă UE vrea în mod serios să se mențină o comunitate de valori “, a declarat Hazekamp.
Partidul pentru Animale vrea de asemenea certitudinea că fonduri europene nu sunt utilizate pentru festivaluri la care taurii sunt abuzaţi. “Parlamentul European a votat împotriva subvenționării creșterii taurilor pentru industria luptelor cu tauri. Vrem să fim siguri că îngrozitoarele festivaluri spaniole, precum Toro Jubilo, nu beneficiază de subvenții agricole europene”, a declarat Partidul pentru Animale.
The Party for the Animals demands that Europe should assume responsibility and call on Spain to stop the horror festival Toro de Jubilo, where a live bull is set on fire. During these annual Spanish ‘celebrations’ a young bull is tied to a post on the market square and tar is attached to its horns and set alight. The bull is then released and chased until it dies after a long death-struggle.
“Europe often hides behind the excuse that it is not permitted to make laws on traditions. But that doesn’t mean that it can look the other way on indescribable horrifying events as Toro de Jubilo. Spain must be called to account if the EU wants to continue to maintain as a community of values,” according to Hazekamp.
Additionally, the Party for the Animals wants an assurance that EU subsidies are not used for festivals where bulls are abused. “The European Parliament has spoken out against subsidising the breeding of bulls for the bullfighting industry. We also want the assurance that European agricultural subsidies will not benefit Spanish horror festivals like Toro de Jubilo,” according to the Party for the Animals.
