‘Oprirea temporară a intrării în vigoare a acordului de liber schimb CETA’
Marianne Thieme solicită guvernului ca temporar, să nu permită CETA să intre în vigoare. Comisia Europeană dorește ca acordul de liber schimb între UE și Canada să intre în vigoare cât de curând posibil. În opinia Partidului pentru Animale, acest acord nu ar trebui să intre în vigoare deloc, cu atât mai mult nu înainte ca poporul neerlandez să își exprime opinia în acest sens.
Având în vedere opoziția față de acordurile de liber schimb, un referendum cu privire la CETA este inevitabil. Marianne Thieme a solicitat guvernului, la Camera Deputaților în cadrul consultațiilor generale ale Consiliului Afacerilor Externe ca, temporar, să nu permită CETA să intre în vigoare, până când cetățenii nu au avut ocazia să-și exprime opinia în acest sens.
Thieme: „Există o mare opoziție cetățenească cu privire la acordul de liber schimb CETA. Bruxelles dorește însă să implementeze acordul chiar dacă parlamentele naționale nu și-au oferit încă sprijinul în acest sens. Din partea societății există o mare cerere pentru un referendum. Democrația trebuie respectată de către Bruxelles și de către acest guvern.”
Portiță pentru TTIP
Acum că Franța și Germania par să se orienteze împotriva TTIP, acordul de liber schimb dintre UE și Statele Unite se află în ultima etapă de declin. CETA reprezintă însă o portiță pentru companiile americane ce au birouri în Canada să poată efectua comerț liber cu Europa. Deci, cu atât mai important este ca cetățeanul neerlandez să spună „nu” acestui acord radical, înainte ca acesta să intre în vigoare.

The European Commission wants the free trade agreement between Canada and the EU to be implemented as soon as possible. Being against this agreement, the Party for the Animals wants to give the Dutch people a chance to speak out before it is entered into force.
In view of the considerable resistance to free trade agreements, a referendum on CETA is inevitable. During the General Consultations of the Foreign Affairs Council in the Lower House, Marianne Thieme has called on the government to stop provisional application of CETA and provide the people with the opportunity to give their views on the subject.
Thieme: “There is great social opposition to free trade agreement CETA. In spite of this, Brussels wants the agreement to be implemented provisionally, despite the fact that the national governments have not yet given their support. In society, there is an increasing demand for a referendum. Brussels and the Dutch government should respect democracy.”
Back door TTIP
Now that France and Germany seem to have turned against TTIP, the free trade agreement between the EU and the US is as good as dead. CETA will now serve as a back door allowing American companies with branches in Canada to keep engaging in free trade with Europe. Therefore it is even more important that Dutch citizens can say ‘no’ to this far-reaching agreement before it is implemented.
