Parti pour les animaux prend le départ en Belgique

BRUXELLES / LA HAYE, 20 février – En Belgique, le parti politique ‘DierAnimal’ a été lancé hier. Ce parti-frère belge du Parti pour les Animaux néerlandais est le onzième parti politique de l’Union Européenne qui se concentre sur la position de la planète et des animaux.

Le parti politique bilingue DierAnimal veut ancrer les droits des animaux dans la constitution belge et, entre autres, mettre fin à l’élevage intensif et à l’expérimentation animale. DierAnimal préconise une agriculture saine, durable et respectueuse des animaux et de l’homme. DierAnimal a également des ambitions transfrontalières: il plaide entre autres pour la promotion active de la durabilité dans la conservation et la gestion des forêts et le reboisement dans le monde entier.

DierAnimal fait maintenant aussi partie d’un mouvement d’émancipation sociale mondial en pleine croissance. Depuis 2002 – l’année de la fondation du Parti pour les Animaux néerlandais – dix-neuf partis politiques pour les animaux ont été fondés dans le monde entier.

L’Eurodéputée Anja Hazekamp et Elze Boshart, président de la fondation internationale du Parti pour les Animaux néerlandais, ont assisté au lancement de DierAnimal à Bruxelles. Elles se sentent toutes les deux heureuses et fières qu’il y ait maintenant aussi un parti en Belgique qui défende les plus vulnérables sur cette planète. Elze Boshart: ‘Nous sommes convaincus que DierAnimal peut faire la différence en Belgique. La Belgique est le prochain pays où l’élevage industriel et d’autres formes d’exploitation abusive de notre planète seront combattus par le biais de l’activisme politique. Les partis pour les animaux sont les seuls partis politiques qui prônent une politique radicalement différente. Ensemble, nous rendrons à la terre sa dignité de foyer pour nous tous.’

BRUSSELS/THE HAGUE, 20 February – The political party ‘DierAnimal’ was launched in Belgium yesterday. This Belgian sister party of the Dutch Party for the Animals is the eleventh political party in the European Union that puts the position of the planet and animals at centre stage.

The bilingual political party DierAnimal wishes to lay down animal rights in the Belgium constitution and to put a stop to intensive livestock farming and animal experiments. DierAnimal pleads for healthy, sustainable, human and animal friendly agriculture. Additionally, DierAnimal has cross-border ambitions: it pleads for active support for sustainable forest conservation, forest management and reforestation worldwide.

DierAnimal is now also part of a growing worldwide social emancipation movement. Nineteen political parties for the animals were set up worldwide since 2002 – the year that the Dutch Party for the Animals was founded.

The launching of DierAnimal in Brussels was attended by MEP Anja Hazekamp and Elze Boshart, Chairman of the international foundation of the Dutch Party for the Animals. Both are pleased and proud that there now is a party in Belgium too that stands up for the most vulnerable creatures of this planet. Elze Boshart: “We are convinced that DierAnimal in Belgium can make the difference. Belgium is the next country where the livestock industry and other forms of overexploitation of our planet will be contested with political violence. The Parties for the Animals are the only political parties that plead for a radically different policy. Together we will give back the earth’s dignity as home to us all.”
