PvdD solicită supraveghere video în toate abatoarele europene
Toate abatoarele europene trebuie să dețină în mod obligatoriu supraveghere video pentru a asigura faptul că animalele sunt protejate mai mult în timpul măcelăriei. Europarlamentarul din partea PvdD, Anja Hazekamp, a înaintat în acest sens o plângere la Comisia Europeană. Conform Hazekamp, supravegherea video ar trebui să fie un element suplimentar, nu o înlocuire a supravegherii curente din abatoare.
Partidul pentru Animale dorește prevenirea în viitor a abuzurilor grave, așa cum s-au constatat în cel mai mare abator din Belgia. Un număr de țări europene, printre care și Franța și Țările de Jos, lucrează deja la un sistem de supraveghere video mai intens în abatoare. Hazekamp dorește extinderea acestei măsuri în toate țările Uniunii Europene.
Party for the Animals’ MEP Anja Hazekamp has submitted a request to the European Commission for mandatory camera surveillance in all slaughterhouses in Europe to better protect animals at slaughter. According to Hazekamp, the cameras should complement the existing surveillance in slaughterhouses rather than replace it.
The Party for the Animals wants serious wrongdoings like the one that was recently observed in Belgium’s biggest slaughterhouse to be avoided in the future. Several European countries, including France and the Netherlands, are already working on increased camera surveillance in slaughterhouses. Hazekamp wants this measure to be implemented in all other EU countries as well.
